USMC Heavy Machine Gunner
A few years ago, a company called Blue Box International took it upon themselves to produce action figures based on several military branches and time periods. They tackled mostly “modern” military figures under the label Elite Force, meaning they made toy soldiers from World War II onwards. One of the latter day figures produced was the USMC Heavy Machine Gunner I’m reviewing today.

Toys R Us comes to 3 local Macy’s
Toys R Us will open 1,500-square-foot pop-up shops starting Monday at 24 Macy’s stores nationwide, including Macy’s flagship store on State Street and Macy’s at Oakbrook Center and Woodfield mall, the retailers said Wednesday. Sideshow's Frodo and Sam satue looks ready for Mordor
When people talk about Frodo Baggins and Samwise Gamgee, they usually use that really condescending "Oh look at the beauty and power of their friendship!" voice. Nobody really sees them for the badasses that they are, which is why I appreciate this Sideshow statue. Yes, Frodo and Sam are super badass, which is why they literally walked into Mordor. Then they walked up the volcano. Have you ever been near flowing lava? That stuff will set you on fire just for being near it, but Sam and Frodo walked on it barefoot. Oh, and they also saved the entire world from a reign of evil. I dare you to do better.
Sideshow's treatment, as you can see, is stunning. The statue will come in an exclusive version that has the awesome orc helmets. You'll be able to pre-order them October 11 through the Sideshow newsletter, assuming you can swing that $274.99 price tag (both exclusive and regular versions cost the same).

First wave of Jem And The Holograms dolls from Integrity Toys and Hasbro
They may not be to my taste, but the Jem And The Holograms dolls surely have a big fan base. Most dealers are already out of stock on pre-orders for these new releases from Integrity and Hasbro. The tacky 80s styling and fashions leave me uninterested but fans of the cartoon series are clamouring for the dolls and were waiting breathlessly for this release. Mikatan previews a buxom feline princess
Here's Leonmitchelli Galette des Rois, a catgirl warrior princess of some sort from the anime Dog Days. While that was a rubbish introduction, I will go on to give some info about this figure thanks to Mikatan's wonderful preview. Segue!
What you're looking at is Good Smile Company's 1/8-scale figure of the character. I have to say, it's really nice-looking. There's movement, excitement, action, and yes a little fanservice. I really like her expression as well, as it seems to fit well with her catgirl looks. The only thing I'd question: what's with the hot pants??

This Lego Hoth chess set is at least three kinds of nerdy
I'm pretty sure 100% of humans love Lego, and I heard there are a few people out there who love Star Wars too. Throw chess into the mix (because why not), and you have this amazing Lego Star Wars chess set. It's a custom creation by Brickplace Customs, and oh my, what a creation!
It's all about the details, really, such as the rebels' knight pieces being Tauntauns. Or how about that hangar bay built into the side of the chessboard? Brilliant!
