For a movie that didn’t do THAT good at the box office, the toys sure are flying off the shelf. Chances are if you are any sort of Pacific Rim fan, you know what I’m talking about. NECA has already released 3 complete series of Pacific Rim action figures, and they already have Series 4 […]

NECA Pacific Rim Series 5 Gipsy Danger 2.0 Announced
Last time when I reviewed the Hot Toys Scar Predator 2.0, I was a Predator virgin. I can’t quite say that anymore though, as I’m officially addicted to Predator action figures. Today I have the next Predator to get the 2.0 treatment, the Hot Toys Celtic Predator 2.0 sixth scale figure. Note: This is the 2013 […]

Hot Toys Celtic Predator 2.0 Sixth Scale Figure Review
Earlier in February, Kidrobot's Mardivale Dunny Series was revealed to exist, with little other info besides they were designed from Andrew Bell and Scribe. The "hyper-series" language seems to have disappeared, which makes me think it'll be a regular-sized run of Dunnys, but a total of 15 designs have been confirmed for the set. That probably means a few mystery chases will be in the mix.
Also sticking with the Mardi Gras/Carnivale theme, the Mardivale series is getting an atypical release date: March 4, Fat Tuesday itself. Normally, we'd expect to see them on a Thursday, so it's a welcome surprise to see them deviate from the norm. What isn't changing is the price; they'll still be US$9.99 each, as expected.

Look out, Kickstarter; the Iron Legion has arrived. But ... wait, what is Iron Legion? Created by Andrew Yang from Ann Arbor, Mich., it's a series of customizable mech toys, starting with the Orthrus and Paladin models, made from ABS plastic and featuring interchangeable parts. Since the articulation is mostly done with ball joints, the parts can probably be swapped between models easily, as well as other accessories that connect via pegs.
The Kickstarter ends March 21 with a US$47,000 goal. Right now, they're at US$2,274, so if you're interested, check out the Kickstarter page. The mech kits start at pledges of US$25. What do you think of the designs, Tomopop readers?

Hobby Japan has teamed up with Good Smile Company to produce a Sakura Miku scale figure. If the sculpt looks familiar, that's because it's based on GSC's 1/8-scale Miku. This one has been run through a copier and shrunken to 1/10-scale. Luckily the shrinking process hasn't impacted the detailing on her beautiful twin tails.
Sakura Miku will be an exclusive, coming in October bundled with Figure Japan magazine. For now you can check out Hobby Japan's gallery of the painted prototype. They're promising an update of some sort on March 9, so speculate away on what that might be about!
