I really like the sexy pirate trope, which seems more prevalent in Japanese properties than in the West. When thinking of pirate figures, Mouretsu Pirates' Marika and Queen's Blade's Liliana spring to mind. Alphamax's Velvet has recently joined them, though she lacks the stereotypical frilly coat and pirate weaponry.
Velvet struck me with a combination of a lovely face, nice body, and appealing outfit design. Although I have a few other figures from the Shining series (I'm a Tony Taka fan, what can I say), this is my first Alphamax figure. As such I decided this would make the perfect occasion for a review!

Funko to Replace Broken Game of Thrones Legacy Collection Figures
The second pre-order of Glacialord will be open Sunday March 2nd, 2014 at 2:00 PM CST. There will be two sets available for pre-order: The first two limb releases Fangro and Tailclub will be sold as a set of two, and Glacialord as a complete set of five (Fangro, Tailclub, Tusker, Razorspike and Megazero). We will not be selling individual pieces on this pre-order.
Following news last year of low retailer confidence leading to the Mach 5 group's canceling of the Gauntlet figure based on IDW's iteration of Ironfist, Mech Ideas this morning has announced they've taken over developing the project. Posting uncolored prototype photos on Facebook, they say it will be at a lower price than before with preorders to come "soon". Check out all the photos with size comparison below!
TransformersAsia.com has listed a new three pack of Autobot Specialists Mirage, Hound and Ironhide. All three toys feature modified decos from previous releases, and metallic paint colors.
