Ashley Wood announces 3A has acquired the Marvel license screenshot

Ashley Wood is the famed designer behind 3A Toys. His own creations have sparked praise from collectors, but his takes on licensed properties have had a couple of ups and downs. Regardless, you can always tell an Ashley Wood piece when you see it. What fans will have to wait for now is his latest contribution to the world of 3A, the Marvel Comics license. The first set of characters to see the 3A treatment will be Doctor Doom, Wolverine, Iron Man and M.O.D.O.K. Wood has also stated his interest in making a 25" Galactus.

While this does sound like a very good thing, it matters on what vision you have for these figures. If you're a general fan of Wood's work, this is incredible news. However, it also depends on what we get. Will it be a fairly-close rendition like the Metal Gear Rex or will it be a stretched-out, in name only interpretation like his Zaku from Mobile Suit Gundam. If it's the later, I don't think people will generally like what will come out of it.

However, he may just surprise us and make some very good pieces. At the very least, my curiosity is at least piqued. As the community, what do you guys make of this latest endeavor? Are you excited over what may come or just don't care for Wood's style? Let us know in the comments!

    [3A Online, thanks Adam!

There are no diecast CARS for Easter – there are Micro Drifter 2-packs. There is no listing so it’s hard to tell if they are only available at “other channels” which means it’s not at the Big Three (WM, Target & TRU) but it’s hard to tell – is this space next to HW’s for [...]

In an edition of 10 pieces at US$40 (+S/H).

Shown below is the second release, featuring a poster for “How to Be One of The Melty Misfits” - printed in full color on glossy 18x24” paper and priced at US$20 (+S/H). Do note that orders in the first 24 hours will come signed.
"Continuing my homage to Garbage Pail Kids, this new full-color poster is based on the old “How to Be a Garbage Pail Kid” poster. The painting was done with acrylic and airbrush on paper, just like the old original paintings for GPKs." ~added Buff Monster.

I blogged about these not too long ago, and now browsing thru the Medicom Toy-blog I get to witness these two BE@RBRICKS I had desired! Released during WONDERFESTIVAL 2013 [WINTER] are single blister-carded BE@RBRICK Robin and BE@RBRICK Cyborg - each priced at 1,575 Yen per (approx US$17-), available to purchase at Project 1/6.

There have been previous releases, all with the "Super Powers" art-homage on the blister-card, and would make hella collection, methinks! I'm glad there isn't a complete "Teen Titans" set (based on the classic Marv Wolfman x George Perez series which I LOVED), or I'll be in toy-trouble! LOL

Banpresto shows off Sword Art Online Ichiban Kuji screenshot

It's that time again when magazine scans flood the internet and Banpresto has some pretty choice figures on digital display hailing from the anime,  Sword Art Online. The first in the loyal lineup is a poseable figure of S.K. series Asuna. This tough little lady comes with nine different hand parts, three facial expressions, her sword plus a motion effect, and a "status window." Asuna stands approximately 13 centimeters tall. With so much detail and numerous accessories, it is no surprise that this figure is considered the "big prize."

The other Sword Art Online-flavored Ichiban Kuji are from the chibi-fied Kyun Chara line and include a whopping eight figures in its roster. The characters included are: Kirito, Asuna, Lizbeth, Silica, Lyfa, Kirito (in ALO form), Yui, and Asuna (in ALO form). The figures in the scans aren't painted yet but you can still get a good idea of what the final product will look like.

Check out the gallery to see the scan for yourself!

Megan Fox Cast As April O’Neil in Ninja Turtles Reboot

Aw, looks like Megan Fox and Michael Bay have made up and will be playing nice together for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot that is apparently still happening.

Michael “McSplodeypants” formally welcomed The Fox to the TMNT family on his official website and Variety confirmed that the role will in fact be the Turtles’ buxom journalist friend that every elementary school boy had a crush on in the 90’s.

Say what you will about FoxyFox and her acting skills, but I’m so down for this. And there BETTER be a scene where she’s tied all freaky bondage-y in that fresh yellow jumpsuit. I’m just hoping on to some thread of hope that her T&A won’t be the only redeeming quality to this film..

Oh yeah, and the turtles won’t be dudes in rubber suits, it’ll be all mo-capped. BOO!!!!!!!
