Great Battle Royale Poster from Mondo with Bryan Lee...
Great Battle Royale Poster from Mondo with Bryan Lee O’Malley and Kevin Tong
Check out this exclusively limited poster from Mondo. The poster was created for a Tugg screening of the cult classic Battle Royale at the new Alamo Drafthouse in Houston.
However, if you are dying to get your hands on this poster (like me), you can also request the screening from Tugg. If your town gets it, the film will play there and you’ll have the opportunity to get this awesome poster.
Spotted on Badass Digest. You can follow Mondo, Bryan Lee O’Malley and Kevin Tong all on Twitter.

Max Factory shows a few teasers for WonFes
I always find these pixelated teaser shots obnoxious, but I think Max Factory really took it to a new level just now. They've teased three figures for Wonder Festival on their blog. Since I'm quite rubbish at figure identification, I've left it up to the folks at MyFigureCollection.net.
Someone at MFC has discerned that the light-colored mass of blocks is Akane Isshiki from Vividred Operation. The weird shot that's just a gold face is Crystal Boy from Space Adventure Cobra. The last one is anybody's guess.
If you're really good at discerning things from a photo with less definition than the original NES's graphics, you should go work for the CIA! It's a much better use of your time than gazing at WonFes teasers.

New art shows plan to dominate the world ... with food?
This weekend marks the openings of quite a few shows, from New York state to California and Germany. Each one is slightly different, though ... okay, they're really, really different:
- At Clutter Gallery (163 Main St., Beacon, N.Y.), Saturday marks the opening for Destination Global Destruction, featuring new customs from Shez. Opening night is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern, and the show runs through March 2. In the gallery, you'll find a larger version of his Destructo-Tank Dunny on display, along with a Death Spike Mini Munny.
- Meanwhile, at Dragatomi (2317 J St., Sacramento, Calif.), it's the opening of I Like to Eat Too, featuring Motorbot's custom food Labbits once more. Like Shez's show, opening night is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Pacific, and the show runs through March 2. Check out a few pictures Motorbot tweeted in the gallery to get an idea of what to expect ... and be sure to eat before going.
- In Berlin, at Strychnin Gallery (Boxhagener Straße 36), Attention Earth! is opening, featuring a classic sci-fi apocalypse theme to it. Artists taking part include Meredith Dittmar, Seymour, Mimi S., Derek Nobbs, Yoko d'Holbachie, Mark Alfrey, Cliff Wallace, Eugene Plotnikov, Nicolas Le Brogne, Joe Fenton, Carlos Valenzuela, Chris Dean, Serge Gay Jr., Monique Ligons, Tom Lewis, Elmer Presslee, Matt Gordon, Skeleton Herth, and Harry Brack. The gallery features Seymour's piece for the show, a 35-cm-tall resin piece he calls Three's a Crowd at the End of the World.
- There's also a postponement: Kidrobot New York's event with artist Mike Die has been postponed to a later date due to the snowstorm in New York City this weekend.
Check out the gallery for a few photos of the fliers for the event and some pieces that will be on display!
CM's Corp. joins the teaser party with five figures
I'll cap off the teaser extravaganza with a handful of girls from CM's Corporation:
- The one in the blue dress is Nyarlahotep from Haiyore! Nyaruko-san. There are already shots of this one un-pixelated circulating around.
- The one sitting down is Hibari from Senran Kagura, a video game. I believe the painted version is new.
- The one on the right side of the header image is Katsuragi, also from Senran Kagura.
- Creamy Mami from Magical Angel Creamy Mami will be on display. Talk about old school!
- Finally, the one that looks bent over is Cthuga from Haiyore! Nyaruko-san.

Sora and Riku Dream Drop into Play Arts Kai line
Sora and Riku will be joining the Play Arts Kai line in their Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance duds. KH:DDD, the first Kingdom Hearts game on the 3DS, featured Sora and Riku (both playable) visiting "sleeping worlds" as part of a "Mark of Mastery" test to prove themselves as true keyblade masters.
The Kingdom Hearts franchise may have taken some bizarre turns over the years, but the core concept of Square-Enix meets Disney has always remained cool. Likewise, the Kingdom Hearts characters have seen a fair deal of merchandise although, for some, the novelty of these figures may not hold up as well. That said, I generally like the look of both characters. Other than Sora's face turning out even goofier than usual.
Sora comes with the iconic Kingdom Key and Ultima Weapon keyblades while Riku gets his Way to the Dawn and Divewing keyblades. If you haven't picked up a Sora or Riku yet, this might be a good opportunity.
Limited prints to help Tara McPherson after fire
We just found out today that fire tore through Tara McPherson's apartment on Jan. 22, when Tara and her family were out of town in Mexico. A downstairs neighbor saved their pet rabbit Jupiter as well, so everyone's alright, but the four-alarm fire in Brooklyn devastated Tara's building after starting in an adjacent building. According to a post on the Cotton Candy Machine blog, Tara lost a lot that was in her apartment, but she's rebuilding and has gotten a lot of requests for help.
As a result, Tara's set up a way for you to help out. She has two Giclee prints — The Love Space Gives Is As Deep As The Oceans (US$100), and Bunny In The Moon (US$25) — that you can purchase as a timed release from now until Feb. 15. However, they're an open run; the number of prints made is determined by the number of pre-orders before Feb. 15. Prints will ship at the end of March and your money will go toward helping Tara and Cotton Candy Machine recoup from the loss. There's no limit on the number you can order, either.
