Checking in with the customs for The Super Suck Up
A while back, it was announced that The Super Suck Up was coming to DesignerCon, and that a number of artists would be lending their skills to customizing some Suckadelic figures. So, just about two months out from the show, where do they all stand? Some are only being teased, while others appear to be finished, and there's a fair amount of diversity in the designs!
In our gallery, you'll find the card art and additional shots of Sucklord and Suckpeg figures from: Ferg (who's doing a fellow named Zorcho the Burner); October Toys (one of the two Suckpegs, based on Silver Surfer); Luke Chueh (with a bear-headed Sucklord figure); Onell Design (doing a simpler colorway); Buff Monster (putting his ice cream monster's head on a Sucklord body); Paul Kaiju (with a kaiju-style paintjob on a Sucklord figure); and the two featured in the header, a Sucklord from DrilOne and a Princess Leia Suckpeg from Scott Tolleson.

Takara's Fall of Cybertron figures out shine Hasbro's
There had been some speculation that Takara Tomy wouldn't be getting the new Transformers: Fall of Cybertron figures for Japanese release. After all, the game isn't being released there and the Shockwave figure has already been announced for a Transformers: Prime release. As it turns out, just like the bots themselves things can change pretty quickly.
Takara Tomy is now accepting pre-orders for their version of TF:FoC Optimus Prime and Jazz. While they use the same molds as the the Hasbro releases they feature a more complex paint scheme than their Hasbro counterparts including a metallic shine. However they also have a price to match as both figures will retail for around ¥2,800 each and will kick off a new Transformers Generations line launching in December. Optimus Prime is being designated TG01 and Jazz will be TG02. Don't be surprised is the next set in the series is the Combaticons.
I admit, I'm considering paying the extra for the Takara Tomy versions, they just look so good! Jazz especially looks like an entirely different figure. That December release is a little troubling, though. So much good stuff coming out during the holidays...

A peek at the customs of Vinyl Thoughts 3
Vinyl Thoughts 3 is opening later this week, featuring work from a number of artists themed around characters we know and love. In fact, the artist list has grown exponentially, now featuring artists like Jason Chalker, NREAZON and Davidkraig, whose respective works you'll find in our gallery as exclusive previews! Jason has done a Munny of Space Kook (along with matching print), Davidkraid chose Old Man Logan for his custom and NREAZON has picked Astro Boy for her piece.
But that's not all. Scott Kinnebrew has sent us a video montage teasing his 15 (!!!!!) new pieces for the show. He's included clips that directly reference each piece he did; see if you can spot them all!

Street Fighter Canvas Paintings By Pierre Bäckman
These acrylic paintings by Mr. Bäckman (a.k.a slusk666) feature the World Warriors of Street Fighter II in a simplified, silhouetted color pallet that looks pretty darn classy. Check out his blog for more 8-bit paintings, but you might want to have a Google Translator plugin installed in your browser because it’s entirely in Swedish.
