Wonder Festival 2015 Summer: Alter
Alter had a rather eclectic mix of figures at their booth. There was quite a large focus on recent idol anime, specifically, Love Live but fans of the original idol anime, Idolm@ster have not been forgotten as there are plans for some figures from Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls! But for now, Love Live gets the limelight with figures of Nico, Eli and Kotori in full display with a placeholder for all the other girls as well.
There were also banners from a new title named Gran Blue Fantasy and also plans for figures from Shirobako, with Yasuhara Ema being pegged for the first release! Elsewhere, many older titles are getting a new lease of life with displays of figures from Odin Sphere, To-Love-Ru darkness and Muramasa on display, either with older figures on display or newer ones for fans to salivate on. Yuzuruha has been getting a lot of fans already! Interestingly, Alter appears to be sharing figure manufacturing duties for Tales of Zestiria with Kotobukiya... Alter will be making a figure of Edna while Kotobukiya will be making a figure of Mikleo. I'm not sure why duties are shared for this title so feel free to think up some interesting conspiracy theories!
On the Altair side of things, Alter showed off an alternate hairstyle for Archer from Fate stay/night which basically leaves no doubt as to who his actual identity is (minor spoilers). There are also prototypes of characters from the new K anime and Julius Kresnik will also be getting a figure to stand beside his brother, Ludger. There was also a placeholder for a figure of Leonardo Watch from Blood Blockade Battlefront.
The most interesting things of note from Alter, however, is the resurrection of the AlMecha line of figures which is returning with the release of the Cougar from Border Break as well as the RK-9 Savage from Full Metal Panic! They will also be re-releasing the M9 Gernsback and Arbalest in the near future! I'm not sure why they're trying again now but I do hope that the line meets with more success this time around. The AlMecha KOS-MOS is still one of my favourite renditions of her!
