First 4 Figures: Ganondorf and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Polystone Statue Announced
DC Collectibles: Jim Lee Inspired Deadshot Bust!
Funko: Big Trouble In Little China ReAction Coming In February!
iZombie comes to television, and your shelves soon
DC Collectibles' long-solicited iZombie statue of Gwendolyn Dylan arrives soon (looking at January or February) for those looking to get their pre-orders in before the show starts up in March. This is based on Mike Allred's comic designs, and has an alternate head; that way you can decide if you want to gross-out your visitors or not.
This being based on Allred's comic work, it certainly consists of more than straight lines and retro-vibe. I wouldn't call it an accurate depiction of his art style, but it comes as close as you can while keeping it realistic. Sort of... This is a resin figure, and stands around 9.5 inches tall. You're also looking at an MSRP of around US$89.99. This of course, is in anticipation of the new TV series based on the Vertigo comic by Chris Roberson and the aforementioned Allred.
Premiering mid-season, iZombie aspires to find an audience between fans of DC-related shows and the zombie craze. Noted TV writer/Veronica Mars creator/messiah Rob Thomas and his writing partner Diane Ruggiero bring this series to...life (yea sorry, there's a pun). Rose McIver (who was the Yellow Ranger in Power Rangers RPM) stars as Olivia "Liv" Moore in the dark comedy that is one part Chew, one part Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Maybe a little Warm Bodies too, because of the collective unconscious maybe?
Olivia was a med student, whose fun party time is interrupted by a zombie-turn (I wonder if that's some kind of metaphor for college life...). She has to eat brains to keep from turning into a full-fledged, unthinking zombie (pseudo-science of course), and in the process gets psychic visions. So yea, she uses it to help detectives because TV shows are pretty much just about cops and hospitals. Though, I'm sure Thomas hopes to rise above the normal television fare (as he's proven to before).
A new Rob Thomas show (who still is not the Matchbox 20 guy) is reason for interest in itself, and maybe we'll get more monsters terrorizing y'alls neighborhood for students and cops to kill! One could think CW bought a property with the word "zombie" in it to join the craze, but hey maybe it will pay off.

It looks like you can snag her for around ¥11,000 and she'll arrive on your doorstep in June. Be aware that clicking through to the retailers will result in NSFW images. What do you think of little Kie Okuyama? Will you be adding her to your collection?

Selvaria Bles may be up in flames, but with Vertex she's burning up the pre-orders!
She may be committed to her cause, but a top General of the Drei Stern from 2008's Valkyria Chronicles can now be under your command. If that command is to stand in a pose on your shelf. This battle tactician has long been a favorite among the fans of Sega's turn-based strategy game for the Playstation 3, probably for her ultimate sacrifice in a heel-face turn of sorts (which, yea she's awesome).
Vertex is now offering a 1/6th scale PVC figure (finally shown in painted form), which seems to be from the Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax arcade game (featuring characters from various Dengeki Bunko light novels battling TO THE DEATH). I've never played it personally, so I can't account for her looking...different. In the chest area...
The sculpt of the costume from the game is all intact, with a belt that is practically useless but looks pretty cool. Though she is missing the signature mini-cloak that eventually goes flying off because who needs a mini-cloak anyway? She looks pretty menacing, or maybe plotting battle strategy (whichever you want). Her hair is a bit darker than I'm used to, but then again this is based off the fighting game and a design from Honjo Raita. The hair sculpt is great, with individual strands standing out in a mass of plastic. I would liked to have seen her sword featured more prominently, however. Clothing looks great, with a great use of black that really pops.
If you like your Valkyria martyrs enhanced in battle and...stature, then the final painted from should help make your decision easier. Vertex isn't exactly the tip top of the trust list by collectors, so know what you're getting into. MSRP of ¥15000, and proposed release in May 2015.
