GEEK POETRY JAM: STEEL IN THE GLADE
A wooded path leads to a clearing,
Where sunlight spills into a glade.
A Prophecy of fate is nearing,
Alone it stands, that ancient blade.
Unseen, untouched for centuries,
Yet ever faithful it remained.
Until the day a worthy soul,
Would step into that covered glade.
One of courage, one of power,
One of wisdom, one of heart,
Only one so selfless then,
Could tear the stone and blade apart.
Awoken now with memories,
Of loss and blood and pain.
Once vigilant, that ancient blade,
thought “Why have I remained?”
"Am I a gift or meant to be,
A curse?”it cried out from its stone.
Or have I been forsaken,
Left forgotten in this glade alone.

Hikari Spider-man has the Mystic Powers!
Funko has unveiled its Hikari "Mystic Powers" Spider-Man, which is also now available for pre-order.
Fans will best recall the "Mystic Powers" deco for its use on Skeletor, which is still easily among the coolest Hikari figures. Since then it's also appeared on Frankenstein and... I think that may be it? (Unless I'm forgetting a SDCC exclusive.)
True to form, this mix of reds, black, golds, and blue works pretty well on Spider-Man. On some level, it's vaguely reminiscent of the red & black combo used for the Superior Spider-Man (or first appearance Spider-Man, for that matter) but the added golds and blues give it some additional character. Overall, it's a nifty design that may be my favorite use of the Spider-Man mold and second-favorite of "Mystic Powers" deco.
