Kotobukiya says 'epytotorP wohS': Zatanna appears!
Kotobukiya continues trampling on the ashes of DC's old Ame-Comi line with more suitable (and realistic in comparison) representations of classic female characters. Previously teased in illustrated form, Zatanna arrives with great fanfare in three dimensions. This former Seven Soldiers member is depicted in her classic, cosplay inspiring outfit; fishnets (that seem to be actual fabric), feminine-tuxedo, and top hat (bunny not included). She is given the dynamic pose we come to expect from the Bishoujo line, hair flowing asunder.
This is designed and sculpted by the masters of the line, Shunya Yamashita and Takaboku Busujima; though, that shouldn't come as much surprise. Zatanna is a big fan favorite, so they've taken their time to do right by her and her many fans. This 50 year-old character is given new life, proving her evergreen status. She is in the 1/7th scale, so right around 10 inches tall. I appreciate that Kotobukiya seem to have an idea of the characters they make (with a lot of credit to Yamashita and Busujima) by giving them expressions in line with their characterization; Zatanna is no different with a sly, showbiz-like smile (while still being genuine).
I hope they tackle the George Perez redesign someday (maybe as a convention exclusive), though for now I believe we can all be pleased with the strong amount of detail and care taken in this figure. Kotobukiya is giving a July 2015 release date according to their press release, provided she doesn't say "elbisivnI." US$69.99 is the suggested price point, so save those quarters you're making from street magic. Ok, maybe enough with the magic references...

Good Smile Company reveals Winter Wonder Festival exclusives
With Winter WonFes 2015 less than a month away, Good Smile have stepped up to reveal the exclusive goods that they'll be selling at the event, thus saving us the agony of speculation and second guessing that used to characterise the event.
As is always the case at Winter WonFes, Snow Miku headlines the exclusives available, with her fan-designed 'Snow Bell' look available in both Nendoroid and figma forms. We've also got a rather striking Nendoroid of Battleship Re-Class from Kantai Collection and another Saber figma, this time an unarmoured 'Dress ver.'.
As with all WonFes exclusives in recent years these will also be available from the Good Smile Online Shop for a limited period of time. GSC will also take any remaining stock touring round the world on the convention trail, so if the company attends an event near you that might be a smart time to get your hands on this stuff. Online sales will be made to order so as long as you get in between the 8th and 16th of February you'll be guaranteed to get one. The two Snow Mikus will be ¥4,500 apiece while saber and Re-Class will set you back a little more at ¥5,000.
Honestly I'm a little underwhelmed, but then I'm not a huge fan of any of these characters. Any of you readers out there really liking what you're seeing?
