I have to start off by saying I am so excited for Summer suddenly that I just can't stand it! Coming this Summer are the new Disney Attractionista dolls! From the concept images they look to be similar to Monster High dolls (Which I LOVE!) and so far we're just getting to see the one for the Mad Hatter's Tea Party, and Haunted Mansion. I like the idea of the Tea Party doll, but that concept art is a little wonky for me. Haunted Mansion may very well end up being my favorite.
As for other items that will be hitting the Parks this year, we'll get to see more goodies for Orange Bird, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Polynesian, new nutcrackers, and more! Be sure to check out the gallery to see what's going to be appearing before your very eyes, and check out the Disney Parks Blog for more information on them.

"The Villager Wanders On"
The Villager does not want, for the Villager knows of their own outcome in this world. The big house, the fancy furniture, the latest clothes; the Villager appreciates these things, yes, but also recognizes that, in the end, none of it is of any substantial importance.
So the Villager wanders on and lives out their days free of care. The Villager lives the life we wish we could live if we could all just stop being so afraid.
The Villager is all of us and we are the Villager, but as we cease to be, the Villager wanders on. Whether under the sun or under the stars, in the snow or in the sand, surrounded by neighbors, yet always alone, the Villager wanders on.
We are the Villager.

Anime conventions are great, aren't they? You go to see the cosplay (the good and the bad), maybe visit that same "Understanding Evangelion" panel that's at every con, and blow lots and lots of money at the vendor hall. Well, that's my routine anyway.
Kollision Con is a Chicago anime convention that, for reasons unknown, happens in the dead of winter. I went last Friday and Saturday mostly to do a bit of cosplay and concert photography. However no visit to a con is complete without a trip to the vendor hall. That's where I found a couple of booths featuring custom plush creations!

Hot Toys to make 10 Avengers: Age of Ultron Sixth Scale Figures
LAIKA is an amazing film studio, and has been very kind to me over the years, so it goes without saying that I'm excited to talk about something they're doing regarding the art from their films. On February 12, 2015, several production puppets, models, props and handmade art from LAIKA film including Coraline, ParaNorman, and The Boxtrolls will be auctioned off with a portion of the profits benefiting The Art of Elysium, a non-profit arts organization that works to make art a catalyst for social change by bringing creativity and inspiration to children, artists and various populations in need.
Selected highlights from The Art of LAIKA will be on display in Dallas, January 22-29th at Heritage Auctions (3500 Maple Avenue, Dallas, TX 75219); Feburary 3-5th at Heritage Auctions Park Avenue (445 Park Avenue at 57th Street); and February 9-12th, Heritage Auctions Beverly Hills (9478 West Olympic Avenue).
They've teased a few of the pieces that they'll be including in the auction, including: Coraline in her iconic blue-starred sweater, The Cat production puppet (Which is what I want the most!), Other Mother in her black dress, all from Coraline; From ParaNorman they'll have Norman's production puppet in his baseball shirt, Zombie Judge, Mitch's Van and Zombie Attack vending machine, character design originals; and from The Boxtrolls they'll have Eggs and Boxtrolls production puppets, Snatcher production puppet, and Snatcher's Mecha-Drill, which is over 5 feet tall, and is the largest prop ever created for a stop-motion film.
That's not all they'll have, so be sure to stop by the display if it comes to your area, and check out the Heritage Auction pages to learn more about the different pieces.
