SDCC 2014: Dark Horse
Dark Horse came to SDCC with a little bit of something from all of their major licenses, including:
- Ganondorf and Link were actually on display this time and able to be photographed. The two statues are the Twilight Princess versions of the characters,
- Eric So has sculpted a vinyl figure of Sin City's Marv, which will be coming in September for US$150. Marv's trenchcoat is going to be removable as well.
- Game of Thrones fans have plenty to check out, from The Hound bust (September, US$150), to several figures including a Twyin Lannister coming in February, to a set of figurines feautring Daenerys' dragons (US$35 each or the set for US$90).
- If you're a Legend of Korra fan, Naga will be getting two plushes (sitting and standing versions) that will release in November, while a statue of the Aang Memorial is set to release in 2015.

Tomopop Review: SHFiguarts Momo Velia Deviluke
You know, there's something to be said about the harem show. Sure, they're usually puerile, insipid and lacking in any sort of redeeming value. Yes, they usually rely on fanservice in lieu of good animation or solid design. You know what... there's very little to say about most harem shows beyond their pervy value.
What's interesting on the merch side of things is that most harem shows don't usually get posed figures. Outside of Bakemonogatari, which definitely has a harem element to it, I can't think of many series that'll get figmas or Figuarts. Bandai, perhaps trying to stretch out their poseable figure line, has gone ahead and made an S.H. Figuarts of Momo Deviluke, from To Love-Ru Darkness.
How good is the figure? Well, let's just put it this way: there's usually a reason why harem shows don't get poseable figures. Hit the jump to find out why.
