Wonder Festival 2014 Summer: Broccoli
Broccoli apparently doesn't care if a series isn't a super popular anime or blockbuster game. Just having a following is enough for them. Just take visual novel series Amairo Islenauts as an example, it's getting its first figures ever with Shirley Warwick and Amagiri Yune, the second being a figure that was announced an entire year ago and still hasn't seen any paint. Just as obscure is VN Dracu-Riot! and its second scale figure ever in the form of Yarai Miu sitting on a giant star
Slightly less obscure is Z/X Zillions of Enemy X which only recently had an anime in the winter 2014 season. Broccoli has quite a few figures planned like the scale figures of Rigel coming in 2015 and a bunch of mini swimsuit Chocotto figures of Kamiyugi Ayase, Kagamihara Azume, and Aoba Chitose. Incidentally, K-ON! was also announced to be getting a similar set of Chocotto figures for Yui, Mugi, Mio, Ritsu, Azusa, and Ui. They also announced a new figure for Shiba Miyuki from the Irregular at Magic High School.
Oh yeah, and they've announced Kantai Collection figures for Yuudachi Kai Ni, Shiratsuyu Kai, Murasame Kai, and Shigure Kai Ni. My favorite, though, is the pairing of Neptunia's Nepgear and Uni. The figures are sold separately, but have matching poses, interlocking stands, and a hand holding gimmick that makes it hard to want one without the other. They look so good together!
None of these are expected to be released until early 2015 so take a look at the gallery to hold you over!

Wonder Festival 2014 Summer: Art Spirits
Art Spirits likes to take things slow. After they first announced their To LOVEru Darkness Precious Collection Momo Belia Deviluke figure it took some seven months for them to finally reveal it. The same seems to be true with their new Nana Astar Deviluke which at least gave us a preview of the prototype five months after its announcement and finally gave us a more finished painted look at it at Wonder Festival eight months after it was announced. She's probably my favorite girl of the To LOVEru series and think the figure turned out nicely. I'm sure this figure will also be castoffable like Momo and they seem to think they'll have her out sometime this year.
They also finally gave us our first look at Hyperdimension Neptunia's Black Heart. It's a little disappointing. While I'm glad they didn't go with the static pose of the art they used to promote the figure, the actual pose is kinda... awkward. She has such a strange lean to her and that odd way she's folding up her right leg. But the worst is that awkward bend half way up her left lower leg like she snapped it on a bad landing.
What can I say, not everything at Wonder Fest is a winner. Head into the gallery to see what I'm talking about.
