Why so serious, Medicom? Your MAFEX Joker doesn't put a smile on my face
Toyark reports that Medicom Toys has released a first look at its upcoming MAFEX The Dark Knight Joker (Heath Ledger). According to Toyark, the figure is slated for a February release and will retail for ¥4,500.
To sum up my feelings in one sound: "Meh". The MAFEX Joker looks alright, but not substantially better than either the the Play Arts Kai (shading notwithstanding?) or even the Movie Masters version. Plus I've heard the occasional horror story of MAFEX figures having abnormally loose joints or falling apart which is enough to convince me this is something of a no-go. Granted, I might have found it more tempting at a lower price point.
Medicom's MAFEX Joker will join Nolan-verse Batman and Catwoman (who was apparently shown at Toy Fair).

Awesome Pixar-esque renderings of Chell from Portal by Alex Zemke. I’m not even sure if the human species could handle such a thing if it were real. Surely the hearts and minds of fans everywhere would explode in unison, mine included.
Alex has been working on this fanmade short film deal and hyping it up since 2012. Dude might need to start a Kickstarter for this or something.

New Reveals of "Art of War" 2014 Dunny Series
Kidrobot has revealed even more design teases for their 2014 artist Dunny Series dubbed ART OF WAR, since posted HERE, and as well uploaded unto a brand new dedicated FB-album HERE (and will be subsequently uploaded when images are revealed).
WHAT-IS: "The Art of War" from Kidrobot is an upcoming new themed Dunny series, based on Sun Tzu's infamous "Art of War", or rather, "a long lost chapter". Featuring designs 14 artists, currently no further product nor availability information is available, as yet.

Carmen Dell'Orefice as a fashion doll by Tonner Doll
Carmen Dell'Orefice is a famous fashion model, with the longest career in the industry - she keeps modelling still, 82 years old, since her first Vogue cover at age 15. Tonner Doll had long ago announced they would be making a doll in her likeness and they debuted it as a centrepiece at their 2014 Tonner Con. The model was there for the unveiling.
The doll is wearing a luxury knit dress with a fur-trimmed jacket. She has a brand new body,named Chic Body: it’s a variation of the Antoinette body, with broader shoulders and a fuller bust. The doll also features a white rooted mane and painted blue eyes, and is highly limited, with an edition size of just 200 pieces.
The doll looks great, although I do think they took a safe route with her. I would prefer a more fashion-oriented Carmen, with her amazing wild silver mane and style in full swing. This looks tame in comparison to her usual editorial/advertising appearances.
The likeness is amazing though. If I had this doll, I would restyle the hair to make it more glamorous. She deserves it. Let's see some photos from the presentation:

S.H. Figuarts Kikaider gets a photo gallery
A photo gallery has appeared for Bandai's upcoming S.H. Figuarts Kikaider, based on the character's appearance in a rebooted film.
I was more than a little excited when I first heard news of a S.H. Figuarts Kikaider. I really enjoyed the Android Kikaider anime and, up until seeing the photos, wasn't aware that another series existed although I'm not entirely surprised that it was preceded by a tokusatsu because the anime certainly had a sentai vibe. Even if it's not quite the version I want, the figure looks pretty cool and I'm tempted to check out that movie as well.

About That "Mr 71 + Eddy" from 3A Toys
A companion piece to the (recently Sold Out) WO7174 - MS74 is the 1/6 scale Mr 71 + Eddy, which essentially is a Ashley Wood in his casual wear, and his cat! (Born in 1971, most like, too ;p).
FYI: MS74 is a 1/6 version of his wife T.P Louise, and this two pieces no doubt celebrates their 10th Anniversary together!
Price is US$140 for a September ship out, randomly dropped at Bambalandstore.com, with this being a "surprise drop" begun today. Neither a dirty soldier or a clone or robot from 3A, folks!
