Watch the vacuum around these extra tiny Kamen Rider figures
Banpresto is out to prove that you really can get big things in small packages. Their new Micro line of figures intend to take the super-sized cast of Kamen Rider and shrink them down to a mere 1.5 cm. That's just a little more than half an inch and works out to about 1/140 scale. They'll be available at select Japanese arcades starting with the first eight figures on May 17. But it doesn't end there! Four sets of eight for a total of 32 figures are planned for this year so far covering the entire spectrum of the franchise.
I really like the idea of these and I imagine we'll be seeing more figures like these done for other series. Think about this: These are 1/140 scale, there's a very small difference between that and 1/144, the scale popular with Gunpla. I could see Banpresto banging out a few dozen Gundam pilots with ease. There's always potential with figures of this size, I just hope Banpresto continues to make good use of it.

DEAR XBOX ONE HATERS, MICROSOFT IS LISTENING
Microsoft’s backpedaling continues! Shortly after announcing that you’ll no longer need an Xbox LIVE Gold subscription to use certain streaming services such as Netflix, they’ve announced that a $399 Kinnectless Xbox One bundle will be available this July.
Gizmodo seems to think that killing off the Kinnect this early in the console’s lifecycle will make the Xbox One worse in the long run. The Internet is reacting and one of my favorite comments comes from @toythatkills on Twitter who says "The only E3 promise left for Microsoft to backpedal on now is the actual existence of the Xbox One."
When Microsoft announced last year that there wouldn’t be an Xbox One bundle without Kinnect at launch, people were furious. Now they announce a cheaper bundle without it and people are STILL mad.
At least they’re trying, right?
I mean, sure, Microsoft was a big part of introducing DLC and microtransactions to home consoles, thus destroying a good portion of what little purity was still left in the industry (now it’s okay for developers to put out half-assed games and sell the rest and patch the bugs later. JOY!), but at least they’re listening, right.
Oh yeah, and Titanfall, guys. They have Titanfall.

Build a team of Ryus with Pop Culture Shock's latest
Pop Culture Shock's polystone Ryu is coming next year in not one, but three different versions. All three are planned for the first quarter of 2015, are 1/4-scale to fit with their other Street Fighter figures, are up for pre-order on May 19 starting at 3 p.m. Pacific (6 p.m. Eastern, 10 p.m. GMT), and generally make me interested in buying a statue of my least favorite World Warrior.
For a quick breakdown on the three variants:
- The regular edition is a run of a to-be-determined size at a price of US$325
- The Ansatuken edition includes two alternate heads: one is the gritting teeth head you see in the gallery, and the other is a surprise, it seems.
- The battle-damaged Tatakai Kouka edition is a similar sculpt but with a worn and weathered look. It's probably my favorite look of the three, coming with an alternate head. A total of 250 are being made at US$350 a piece.
Any one of these catching your eye?
