Miyazawa Model Exhibition Spring 2014: Cu-Poche Rikka Takanashi

Another season of Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions has come to an end, but the characters still continue to be a hot commodity. Too bad companies are being painfully slow in catching on to this otaku cash cow. Well at least Kotobukiya has our back. Once again they're displaying their Cu-Poche Rikka Takanashi figure, first seen back at Wonder Festival 2014 Winter. When we last saw her she was displayed in one of her trademark chunibyo poses, but this time we get to see her in a much more defensive and scared pose with a new face.

I still can't tell if her eye patch is removable, but I sure hope it is. Being able to do the same poses with the same faces while "Wicked Lord Shingan" is exposed without having to use different faces would be a huge bonus. We still haven't seen any accessories yet, but I have to assume she'll at least come with her parasol, "Schwarz Sechs Prototype MkII", and maybe some effect parts just for fun.

Still no release info aside from coming out in 2014, but given that she debuted as a colored prototype back in February and now we're seeing more parts I imagine we'll be seeing some official photos and maybe even a pre-order very soon.

DC Bombshells Catwoman on way? Pin-up art gives an idea of what it may look like

$

io9 has pointed out that Quantum Mechanix is selling replications of the pin-up art used for DC Collectibles' popular DC Comics Bombshells line... and, interesting enough, it includes artwork for a yet-to-be-unveiled Catwoman. Is it a glimpse into the future?

If this is going to be the basis for a Bombshells statue (and I hope it will be), it might be the line's best. One of the cooler touches is that Selina is depicted "wearing" a cat, giving it the appearance of a fur boa (except this time, fur ISN'T murder). You'll also notice that she's wearing cat ears and glasses which are reminiscent of the character's goggles. She's instantly identifiably Catwoman yet the art conforms to both the pin-up style of the line while offering something a little different.

The actual art prints measure 18-inches by 24-inches and can be pre-ordered now for US$15 apiece. They're slated for a late April release.

My Motherhood Days

Motherhood, a precious ten-letter word that scores a perfect ten in my list of must do things. It is the hardest that I have ever worked but at the same time most that I ever smiled. I know that it has brought out the best in me, a unique opportunity to unlearn everything and re-look at the world afresh. This time it is from the curious gaze of my little ones. This blessing of an experience has added value to not just my home but my work life as well, as I started my own company the Learning Room as an extension of my love for my children.

02

Idea Behind Learning Room

I am a trained graphic designer a full time mother and a serious juggler of time. I steal time to design products for my children that would tickle their curious minds and make them smile. With the birth of my son I had noticed the scarcity of learning based tools, the ones available were either too boring or too expensive, once a child has learnt a skill the toy would be a waste. This thought of utilizing a medium to its optimum gave birth to the “Learning Room”.

The Best Of Both Worlds

Learning Room is a blend between learning and home decor. Everyday products like tablemats, coasters are designed to engage the child into a subtle interaction. Skills like increasing vocabulary, teaching color, learning to how to count can all be done in a fun way at the table over a meal making learning a beautiful experience.

03

My son and I make new sentences with the vocabulary words provided on the table-mat over spoons full of soup. He loves to race me to the end of the bowl and prides himself at making lengthy sentences. The posters cushion-covers and wall-art not only add style and color to our room but help him recognize the alphabets through constant visibility.
