Tutorial: Make a Balcony for Your Doll
The original post may be found on Studio Commissary.
1- Styrofoam Circle
7- 7" cake pillars
White glue
Tacky glue
"Stucco" wallpaper (you can also use paper clay or air dry clay to cover the Styrofoam)
Cut the Styrofoam circle in half. I originally wanted to use air dry clay or paper clay to cover the Styrofoam semi-circles, but I didn't have any (forgot to purchase). Instead, I did have in my supply stash (that I collected from Goodwill) a roll of "stucco"-looking wallpaper. So because I was impatient, I used that instead of the air-dry clay. If you do cover the Styrofoam with the air-dry clay, be sure to use white glue on the Styrofoam before placing the clay on it (so it adheres to the Styrofoam). Then when it's dry you can paint the clay to match the pillars, or paint the whole thing to your liking.
Then, I just glued ("Tacky" glue) the pillars -- evenly spaced -- to the Styrofoam base. Then glued the top in place.
Voila! Gene has a balcony!
Thanks to Pam for this easy-to-do project. Our dolls are celebrities and need balconies to address their adoring fans!

3A Toys' WWR SQUARES Box Set 1-Hour Only Sales Begin March 31st @ 9AM HK
3A Toys' 1/6th-scale WWR SQUARES makes a "return" as a Box Set (8 x Squares total), scheduled for a pre-order via Bambalandstore.com on March 31st @ 9:00AM Hong Kong time - and further pushing the "fun" (or "tolerance", depending on who you ask ;p) of purchase, by having the order-window open for only ONE HOUR. All I can say to folks out there; "Good Luck", and Pray HardHard the system doesn't hang and that cartjacking would not rule said hour LOL ... Will update the price and any other info when it is available :)
Having experienced the good old days of blind-boxed SQUARES and the little 1/12th-scaled WWRp versions, I am personally FOR the larger scaled versions, for they are indeed worth the handful, IMHO :)

Here are a few snaps to share of my A/P print, featuring sweet detailing, intriguingly splendid design-work, and a swell stamp to wrap this special piece! And this is my first Candie Bolton print too (thanks to Mark!) and undoubtably might not be my last!
Hot Toys gets Revengeance with their new 1/6-scale Raiden
Hot Toys are back at it again, making yet another awesome 1/6-scale figure. This time, they've picked Raiden in his Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance form, and from the photos they've sent us, no detail has been left overlooked. Even the boss himself, Hideo Kojima, is fanboying over Hot Toys' work. I sure don't blame him.
So what does Raiden come with, besides dashing good robot looks? Well, you get his full arsenal of weaponry, including his dagger and long blade; an optional visor part; a pair of interchangeable chest armor pieces; and four different sets of hands, among other parts. There's also a special edition that'll come with a to-scale version of Raiden's Muramasa blade.
You can expect Raiden in the fourth quarter of 2014 or first quarter of 2015; a price is to be announced but I expect to see pre-orders soon.

METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE: 1/6th SCALE RAIDEN FIGURE FROM HOT TOYS
No, the above image is NOT a screen cap from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. It’s an action figure.
From high-end collectible brand Hot Toys Limited, this is the excruciatingly detailed 1/6th scale figure of Raiden, the main character from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. If this is anything like previous Hot Toys releases, it will have somewhere around a gazillion points of articulation and cost way more than most folks can probably afford to spend on an action figure. This is high-end stuff people! But that’s also what makes it so awesome.
If Hot Toys releases are out of your price range, there’s always the almost-as-awesome Revoltech Yamaguchi Series Raiden complete with cardboard box accessory and slice-in-halfable watermelon.

CAPTAIN AMERICA’S TO-DO LIST
Here’s a screenshot from Captain America: The Winter Soldier showing Cap’s to-do list. Poor dude. Frozen for nearly 70 years, there’s a lot he has to catch up on like Thai food, educating himself on the ups and downs of the Berlin wall, and apparently he’s unsure about Rocky II. At least he got Star Wars out of the way.
Sheesh, Steve! You should put buy a smartphone on that list because there’s totally an app for keeping track of all that stuff. Christ, you could knock that list out in a few days ON a smartphone!
