Wartoise #3 - I Am Irontoise from Andrew Byham
"Wartoise #6" AKA "IRONTOISE is a new addition to the Wartoise family by Andrew Byham, and is based on Mk1 Iron Man, featuring a glowing "heart" underneath a magnetically mounted canon on top of his shell. Available now for £50 + postage via andrew.byham.co.uk, "Irontoise" is a resin figure with polymer clay, Warhammer 40k weaponry and LED glowing power cell, painted to a gunmetal finish in acrylic.
"Irontoise is injured by a booby trap and captured by the enemy, who then orders him to design weapons. His injuries are dire and shrapnel is moving towards his heart. His fellow prisoner constructs a power cell to keep the shrapnel from reaching Irontoise's heart, keeping him alive. In secret they use the workshop to design and construct a crudely welded carapace constructed from iron plates, with a magnetically attached gun turret hiding the glowing power cell."

Origami on a whole new level: a life-sized elephant
)
Every now and again, I look at something and go, "Damn."
Not in a bad way, mind you. I mean, in a totally awe-struck way.
Sipho Mabona is an origami artist, and he successfully funded a project through IndieGoGo called The White Elephant. The goal of this project was to "prove that there are no limits to what can be made out of a uncut square piece of paper. [Mabona plans] to fold a life-size replica of an elephant." The plan involved using a 15- by 15-meter (50- by 50-feet) sheet of paper to "create an elephant standing more than 3 meters (10 feet) tall."
Part of the funding was allocated to having a live stream of the event and also processing the footage into a documentary. The video above (link here) is just one part of it, but it shows a time-lapse of a big chunk of the elephant's construction, and you can see the finished product in all its glory below. My Modern Met writes that this art piece took four weeks to complete with a team of over a dozen humans on the job.

Stuff this Simpsons LEGO video into your eye-holes
Here's a video to brighten up that dreary day. Fans of The Simpsons are familiar with the iconic opening of the show, where the name of the program appears in they sky, followed by the ridiculous antics of the inhabitants of Springfield and ending with a mad-dash to the couch.
Well, bad-ass bricksmith Monsieur Caron recreated said opening via stop-motion using a Canon Rebel T3, DragonFrame, Garageband, Adobe Premier Pro and After Effects. Actually, he did more than simply recreate the opening. He did a pass using the heads of The Simpsons characters and then he did a pass with the LEGO Movie characters. Great work overall. Also, I'm still rather fond of that two-story couch. As impractical as it is, I'd like to have it in my place.

list-making: top 5 coolest stackers
So I think when I was a little tiny itty bitty thing, there was only one well-known stacker: the Fisher Price classic. You know, it was in a Wizard of Oz palette (that’d be rainbow), with a wobbly base, and that waxy plastic reminiscent of a by-gone era? Yep. I bet many of you had […]

Charm Your Little One With Little Charms
My dreamy world
My high school years were full of fantasizes of my being a business woman attending board meetings!
Quite weird it may sound but that was the dream I use to see with open eyes not knowing when it would be real. But it is just that best things happen when they have the right timing. Likewise my dream got a chance to get real when decorating my kid’s room became my favorite pass time. It was then that I realized that I can combine my design education from National Institute of Fashion Technology with the lovely world of a kid’s room by creating a concept with which kids can play, learn, grow and feel inspired. Hence forth came around ‘Little Charms – an online kids furnishing boutique’
Baby steps
I had to run pillar to set up my little manufacturing workshop. It started with finding the place, sourcing the material, equipments, machinery, workers etc. There was a challenge to be faced at every single step. But all my efforts got paid off when my customers encouraged and appreciated me. Their positive feedback and suggestions kept me motivated. This led me to take forward my work and continue innovating and improvising. It was on customer demand that I ventured big time into personalized birthday return gifts.
Fuelling the passion of Little Charms
Since our genesis lies in experimenting with a fresh idea, we continue living that spirit by developing new products and themes as a constant feature. Since customization and personalization is our USP, we always want our customers to have the satisfaction of having what they desire for. It is in terms of design, quality, concept and pricing.
A happy customer is our propeller to continue the work we have started.
Since ours is an online store, we are able to touch the lives of people beyond our city boundaries and make the occasions of baby shower, room decorating, birthdays and gifting more cherished and special. I feel inspired when our work goes beyond the boundaries of India to places like Australia, Singapore, Dubai and Chicago.
Our attempt is that every time a kid receives a Little Charms product, we put a smile to their face as they feel so thought about and loved to get a personalized gift.
Roshni Baronia, is a National Institute OF Fashion Technology pass out who is running an online boutique by the name of Little Charms.
