Truth be told, I was in a dilemma, on how to present goodies from Mighty Jaxx lined-up for this coming weekend's Singapore Toy Games and Comic Convention 2013 - whether they be done via individual feature posts, or otherwise in one gargantuan post, for which I have decided the latter - with image support from my Facebook album! (The japanese brands they are reppin' will be in another blogpost).
To be made available at booths G6 / G8 / G10 at Artist Alley, here are what is in store from the hot new brand MIGHTY JAXX!
Goin's BAD APPLE will be available in two editions, with the black+white figure and white grenade debut recently at WonderFest (the red grenade edition has apparently since sold out), but what got my firm attention, and yes, unbridled toy-lust, was the CLEAR EDITION, looking like it was carved from ice, and my pictures do not do it justice.
Limited to only 30 pieces, they will be priced at SGD$250 per for the Clear Edition.
what has been revealed before, is the STGCC-Exclusive SIDEWAYS from Yoskay Yamamoto, and it is heftier than I imagined! Lined up next to the early SDCC and TTF Exclusive, they are indeed yummy, no exaggeration here!
The STGCC-Exclusive is priced at SGD$100 per.
TAU POK KING is a collaboration between DEVILROBOTS and the sculpting talents of Daniel Yu, with extremely limited quantities of the BLACK and WHITE versions available at STGCC (The GOLD Version is an exclusive to the show "Unbreakable" now on at LaSalle).
What is launching exclusively at STGCC, are custom hand-painted TOFU CHEESE HEADS! 3 colorway editions to choose from, each limited to only 5 pieces, SGD$50 each. Tis obvious I had quite an amount of fun with them heehee
I call these "The Three Wise Skuhls", with GOLD being the STGCC-Exclusive (priced at SGD$200 each and limited to only 10 pieces). The mini-skuhl comes with Clogtwo's MachineMouth book, which will also be available for sales at STGCC. clogtwo will be in attendance (scheduled unconfirmed) which would be perfect for his to sign in the book, in case you missed purchasing it at his show earlier this year.
Debuting for public display at STGCC is SAILOR TRIXIE from Andrew Hickinbottom, with this sweet gal available for pre-order at SGD$120 per (for a late-october ship out), limited to 200 pieces. More like a marquette than "toy", the prototype i saw and touched (*cough*) was pretty darn desirable, IMHO.
Also available for sale at this weekend's event, are their HUG, LOVE BOMB with phunk!, Plastic Foundary's INFERIOR TROOPERS, and even Daniel Yu's Deep Orange Edition CRAWDAD KID from OMFG Series 1. Seriously? Get your cashmonies ready, and get wild at Mighty Jaxx's at STGCC MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA

A Closer Look at "CULTURED" by SKL0 x Mighty Jaxx (pre-order at #STGCC 2013)
This needs to have it's own blogpost, with Mighty Jaxx producing local artist SKL0's concept piece named "CULTURED" (Previously Featured) with a play on something folks might have on their refrigerator.
The conceptual tagline goes: "A play and commentary on our unique local culture"
Frankly I was not too "convinced" of (sorry, Sam!), but just as soon changed my tune when I held a proto in my hand, when I visited the MJ-HQ. It was not similar sized as the regular drink is, and the heft of the resin piece somewhat lends itself to the weight of the issue, giving further depth to the humor in the text printed on the piece: "More Culultured Than YOU Will Ever Be".
And the aesthetic touches - like the debossed text and SKL0's logo - made it a fun piece to be had. Hey, I'm a grapefruit-fan (*raises hands if you love Ribena* lol) so the purple piece brought a smile to my face. Now if the set came shrink-wrapped (with subversive text printed on it, of course), it would be awesome haha!
Each colorway (4 "flavors" to choose from) is priced at SGD$50 per, while a set of the complete four is SGD$170. Pre-orders will be available at the Mighty Jaxx booths G6 / G8 / G10 at Singapore Toy Games and Comic Convention 2013, with a late-October 2013 ship out.
Samantha Lo is also a fellow RSCLS member as Clogtwo, who's Hell Lotus was MJ's first ever release, and this notion both excites and puts a proud smile on my face. Locals Represent!

Vinyl On Vinyl for #STGCC 2013
Vinyl On Vinyl is showcasing a slew of artists this year at this weekend's Singapore Toy Games and Comic Convention 2013 - who bring with them art and toys! Goodies include Gabriel "DIKO" Tiongson's "Familiar Meatus" (look for a TOYSREVIL Edition after STGCC, yo!) making it's debut, local illustrator Sonny Liew with his "mascot" "Pinocchio" (complete with fabric hood = which looks uber cool!):
QUICCS' "Assault & Batteryz" (Gold Nugget Edition) piece, Anjo Bolarda's Nasty becomes a 13" sexy plush, Singapore artists Wanton Doodle and Mashi have their collectibles as well, and Jon Burgerman's magpapahamburger will be greeting Singapore's shores too!

Nelz Yumul for #STGCC 2013
The Philippines based illustrator Nelz Yumul (www.nelzyumul.com + www.weewilldoodle.com) will be bringing is "frantic+maniac" style of doodlization to Singapore Toy Games and Comic Convention 2013 this weekend, including his Samplr Zines (which I heart), and other fun artwork, including a STGCC-Edition WEEWILLDOODLE sine!
Nelz will be at the Vinyl On Vinyl booth F56 at Artist Alley booth, this August 31st and September 1st at Sands Expo & Convention Center, Marina Bay Sands!
As well Nelz has a TOYSREVIL-mascot design to be released as a sticker sheet from me, so that is yet another opportunity for you folks to grab one, and track him down to sign it muahahahaha

With all the hustle and hype going on before the weekend assaults our senses with all-things geekery, toys, games and comics, here is the layout plan for the Singapore Toy Games and Comic Convention (as printed in their Event Guide) - happening at the Sands Expo & Convention Center, Marina Bay Sands, between August 31st and September 1st, 2013.
FYI: TOYSREVIL does not have a booth this year, so don't trouble yourself looking for it ;p

Pre-order Griffon Enterprise's 1/7th scale Saber
Griffon makes a lot of interesting figurines. As seen in our summary of Griffon's Sword Art Online figurines some are hits and some are misses. I believe their latest 1/7th scale Saber based on Fate/Stay Night is a hit.
While Sabers posing may not be as dynamic as GSC's Triumphant Excalibur Saber, I feel that Griffon did a fine job of capturing Saber's facial expression and body language to be something I would expect to see in the animation in Fate/Stay Night. I can't put my finger on it but she just looks good and well put together. It could be the shiny armor but something about her whole sculpt just tells me that she is a excellent Saber collectible.
Griffon's Saber is not cheap. She comes at a suggested price of ¥10700 yen. You know what they say, you pay for quality right? Well I think it is the case here. Fortunately those who order her should not have long to wait. She ships out in late October of this year.

My trio of handmade needle felted OOAK Santa art dolls are as different as they are alike. For sure they are all Santa's and for sure they all love to decorate.
Walter just loves to decorate for the holiday season - especially when he's decorating with fresh cut trees. He loves walking through the woods to find the perfect tree, cutting it down, dragging it back home, and then decorating it with his favorite Christmas tree ornaments. This year he's found the PERFECT tree and is anxious to get started. The problem is he can't seem to find his favorite box of ornaments. He knows he put it in the center hall closet like he does every year. However. when he went to get it he couldn't find the box. What could have happened to it?
Albert, The Thinking Man's Santa spends a lot of time thinking about the upcoming holiday season. Should he do this, should he do that? What about this or that? What happens if he does this or does that? Perhaps he should test this or try that? Right now he's pondering his tree decorations. He wasn't sure if he should go with all white bulbs, all blue or red bulbs, maybe green bulbs? So, he settled for multi-colored bulbs. Albert is hoping his multi-colored bulbs decision is the right one. Perhaps he should rethink this? Perhaps test another color? What do you think?
Richard The Red Santa just loves the Christmas holiday season because he loves the color red and decorating everything red. It's such a cheery and upbeat color and matches beautifully with the green and bright white colors of the holiday season. This year he's decided to decorate his Christmas tree with red lights, a red bow, and all red ornaments. Richard is hoping he'll have enough red ornaments to decorate his whole tree. Hopefully, he'll have enough as nothing but red will do.Three Santa's who love to decorate. Alike but different tastes for sure.
