Alpacas Rock - Alpacas Love Their Daisies E-Pattern - Alpaca Stitchery Picture Decoration - Alpacas Rock Series - Pattern Category - Skill Level - Beginner
Alpacas Rock - Alpacas Love Their Daisies is an e-pattern to create a 4" by 7" alpaca stitchery in a 5 1/2" by 7 1/2" purchased picture frame.
Your alpaca stitchery picture utilizes two 4” by 7” pieces of felt. One to sew all the wool felt pieces of the picture to and the other as back lining. The two felt alpaca pieces are embroidered as a stitchery and then embroidered to the felt background. The clouds are embroidered to the felt background. The fence rails and fence posts are embroidered to the alpacas and the felt background. Two lazy daisy flowers and leaves of grass are also embroidered to the felt background. Rub-on stencils are added to the picture background to complete the picture.
The pattern includes text instructions, step-by-step color diagrams for finishing the alpaca stitchery picture from start to finish, full page picture layout sheet, alpacas embroidery design instructions sheet and full page single sided pattern piece sheets. The pattern also includes step-by-step illustrations and instructions for blanket stitching and step-by-step illustrations and instructions for creating the lazy daisy flowers.

Alpacas Rock - Alpacas At Spooky Hollow Mini Quilt and Embroidery E-Pattern - Alpaca Mini Quilt Picture Decoration - Alpacas Rock Series - Pattern Category - Skill Level - Beginner
Alpacas Rock - Alpacas At Spooky Hollow Mini Quilt and Embroidery is an e-pattern to create an 6 1/2" by 8 1/2" mini quilt decoration.
Your mini quilt and embroidery utilizes two 5 1/2” by 6 1/2” pieces of felt. One to sew all the wool felt pieces of the mini quilt to and the other as back lining. The felt alpaca piece is embroidered as a stitchery and then is embroidered to the felt background and tree.
The dark brown tree is embroidered to the felt background. The house, roof, walkway, and chimney are embroidered to the felt background. The door and shutters are embroidered to the house. The fence rails and fence posts are embroidered to the alpaca and the felt background. The ghosts are embroidered to the felt background, house, and fence. The witches hat is embroidered to the middle fence post, walkway, alpaca, and background. The jack-o-lantern is embroidered to the house and the felt background. The bats are embroidered to the felt background. The spider webs are straight stitch embroidered to the base, tree, and fence post and rail.
Felt tabs are added for hanging the mini-quilt to the mini quilt wire and wood hanger and then the base and back lining are blanket stitch embroidered along the edges.

Mara Jade gets illustrated for next Star Wars Bishoujo
Kotobukiya's Bishoujo line took a risk in going to the expanded universe of Star Wars and it's largely paid off. Jaina Solo was a great start to the line, which hasn't seen anything new since. The next in the line is none other than Jaina's aunt (and Luke's wife), Mara Jade. Before all of that, she was the Emperor's assassin, which looks to be the inspiration for this Bishoujo entry.
You can already get the ideas going as to how Shunya's illustration will translate into PVC and its possible variants. The Star Wars line isn't looking to push boundaries and this piece strikes the right balance. They did a great job with Jaina, so I'm looking forward to how it will end up as a figure. I'm a sucker for good capes and this looks to trap me in.
Between this illustration and Chun Li earlier, let's just hope they'll tease further and have prototypes at SDCC this week. I doubt Mara will be ready by then, but she is something to look forward to this year.

Let's have a big hand for figma Strength
There had been worrying rumours that Max Factory was having trouble with the new TV Animation ver. of Strength from Black Rock Shooter, with some even saying that the figma might be cancelled altogether. Today though those rumours were laid to rest as the figma blog posted a full preview of Strength. And hey, after all of that she's looking nothing short of stunning.
Those two massive hands are definitely the showstopper, with individual articulation on the thumb and three fingers, along with replaceable fingertips to replicate her massive artillery barrages. The arms each come with their own stand and you can actually mount them both on one side which means that (if you've got a second figure, natch) you can recreate the anime's climactic four armed fight. Don't underestimate Strength herself though, as she's not lacking. It's an excellent sculpt, with two fantastic slasher smile faces, 'normal' arms and a poseable tail, along with a removable hood and scarf.
Overall this is the most impressive figma I've seen in forever and the first 'must buy' from the range for me for quite a while. Naturally such extravangance doesn't come cheap though, as she'll retail at a cool ¥5800 when she goes on pre-order tomorrow, with deliveries planned in January 2014. Still, I'm there, who's with me?

New Transformers Platinum orders start on BBTS
Back at BotCon we got a first look at several new Transformers Platinum Edition shared exclusives coming to stores this year. A few short weeks later and pre-orders are starting to go live.
The first of the exclusives to hit stores was the G1 Predaking reissue set. Featuring a metallic paint app this is the second time this particular set has been made available through Hasbro, plus an earlier edition that was released by Takara Tomy. The set is available for Pre-order right now on Amazon.com, BigBadToyStore.com, and for the first time on HasbroToyShop.com for US$119.99 in September.
Then starting Monday BBTS started taking orders on Grimlock vs. Bruticus. For an incredibly reasonable US$99.99 you get a repaint of Fall of Cybertron Grimlock with a shiny gold-color metalized body. The gold is nice, but I wish they would have done the metalizing on all the gold parts for consistency or used a darker shade. The Fall of Cybertron Combaticons making up Bruticus feature G1 colors similar to the 2012 SDCC exclusive box set. That set retailed for US$99.99 so this is sort of like getting Grimlock for free. Pretty good deal that BBTS insists will be out by the end of July.
The Grimlock vs. Bruticus set will certainly be appearing on Amazon and HTS soon enough, expect an update when that happens.
