Thanks “Holly H.” for the early photos of the PLANES on card … It looks like they’ve saying a little by removing the front paper name plate and just printing it on the card on the right – so for international markets, they can just remove the name and change out the legalese on the [...]

More Treasure Festa coverage? Sure! Let's take a look at two more kit makers with some popular characters. Mana Mode brought two different Asukas with them, one of her in her plugsuit and the other featuring her jamming out with a guitar. I do like the latter of the two more because it's so different from all the other Asuka kits I've seen at these events. Check out that sweet Eva-02 styled guitar, too!

Meanwhile, Little Pink Summer had one little kit in particular on display that caught my eye: Persona 4's Nanako. Yes, my Persona compulsion has struck again, but Nanako usually doesn't get as much notice as the main cast. It's a cute little kit that seems to capture Nanako's youthful enthusiasm (it's a bit less than say Yotsuba, but still there) and makes me keep thinking of all those Hiimdaisy Persona comics. Poor Nanako ...

Josh Mayhem presents the X105 Strike Gunny - A Custom 3" Huck Gee Post Apocalypse Mecha Dunny. And while this was a piece already spoken for, Josh is still currently taking commission work and can be reached via his website or through his Facebook

"I actually earned this commission a little while before the Post Apocalypse Dunnys came out. Once they did I couldn't wait to get my hands on one of the Mecha's to customize as they are absolutely perfect for my asthetic of customizing. Since the collector is a huge fan of mechas in general, and since he's been so patient, I decided to upgrade him to one of these bad boys. Gotta say I love the way it turned out, and can't wait to do more of them." ~added Josh Mayhem.

  • Wood plus whimsy plus the Netherlands plus a super silly fabulous name? That’s Watermelon Cat. There is a timeless quality to the designs that makes them feel decidely mid-century, in all of the best possible ways. I’m a big fan of any toy that doesn’t dumb it down for kids, and these toys are cool [...]

I just loved the Artful Gathering e-class that I took last June. I had been wanting to take an e-class for years and just never had the time. Well, last year while perusing Pat Winter's "Crazy Quilt Gatherings" magazine for the umpteenth time   I saw a page on the "Artful Gathering 2012 - An Online Video Art Retreat" which was offering online classes in June 2012. This piqued my curiosity so I decided to check out their website.

While browsing through the Session One Workshops I saw several that I thought would be nice to take. And, I saw one that was being taught by Pat Winter, who is one of my all time favorite crazy quilt designers. So, when I saw that Pat and several other amazing artists that I know were teaching I decided "if not now - when" and signed-up for the workshops.

I made some wonderful friends and had such a wonderful time taking Pat's class I decided to take some classes in 2013. The problem was going to be which one - there are just so many astonishing artists teaching at Artful Gathering I knew it would be hard to choose.

Well, this year when I got the email on the available classes I knew it was going to be a hard decision. I wanted to take them all, but that wasn't going to happen. The problem was narrowing my list down to 1 or 2. It took me a week to decide on 2 classes - one for each session.

I decided to take Colleen Moody's "Briley The Birdie" class in the first session....

and Judy Johnson's "Lovely Sea Maiden" in the second session....

The first session doesn't start until June 6th. I can hardly wait. Wish me luck.
