Fresh BATMAN COMIC BOOK News about Carrie Kelley Robin and Man-Bat!
I was visiting the Official DC COMICS Website earlier this morning, just to see what new thing is going on with the Batman Comic Books, and look at what I saw!!
First, Batman and Robin (Now called Batman and Red Robin?) has a special gate-fold cover and when you pop it out it reveals a "new" character... Carrie Kelley as Robin!! Let's hope this is not a spoof and they really have plans to bring her inside continuity.
Then, for Batman Detective Comics #19 (which, if they had not screwed-up the page count with their famous "start over", this would originally have been issue #900 ) they have a special Variant Cover done by Tom Richmond of Mad Magazine fame. I mention, "MAD", because they have Alfred E. Neuman as Man-Bat. Plus, it looks like he took a huge dump on the Batmobile, ha ha ha! What?!!!

Shota Katsube turns twist-ties into action figures
People never cease to amaze me in their ability to take something as common as a twist-tie and turn it into surprisingly detailed little figures. But that's just what Japanese artist Shota Katsube does. Using the shiny variety of twist-ties he's not only cranking out the figures, but also their weapons. In a sense these remind me of minimalist art in how they're just basic colors with no painted details, yet they still manage to look fantastic. Even things like rockets, spikes, pads, and capes are added in. Simply amazing work.
If you're in London, England then you have an opportunity to see his work in person. The little figures will be on display at the Welcome Collection through to June 30. He's got some 300 of these little guys on display, many between one and 1.5 inches tall. Be sure to check the image gallery to see a sample of what he's got on display.

ThreeA's Atlas and P-Body appear after a year in hiding
It's been quite some time since we last heard from ThreeA regarding their work on Portal 2's popular bots, Atlas and P-Body. What we saw nearly a year ago was a couple of prototypes, with very little to go on except for their sculpts. Today, we get to see what a year's work has accomplished at the ThreeA event at Beast Kingdom Toys in Taiwan.
I hope people weren't expecting clean paint, as it's silly to imagine a ThreeA figure without some grime on it. This release of Atlas and P-Body have been through plenty of testing and it shows. What will draw the most attention though are the lenses. I'm glad they went for the full lenses on these guys and combined with the pure size of these figures, I'm hoping that these will light up. Add the portal guns along with LEDs and I think we'll have some winners here.
In another surprise at the event, ThreeA unveiled their partnership with Capcom. ThreeA will be making figures from Lost Planet, which leads to some very nice mecha and figures. No other details about their release was given at the event. Just know it will be out sometime and will cost you a lot. You can check out more from their show in the full gallery below.

We saw her fully unveiled just recently, but now Volks have updated their website with a dedicated page for Dollfie Dream Asuna, revealing some new shots and some finer details on what's sure to be a hugely popular item.
Those who are after her won't have long to wait either, as she's due to go on sale at Dolpa 29 at the end of this month, with deliveries due at the end of May. There's been no official confirmation of an international lottery, but I'd have to imagine one will be announced imminently. In any case, you better scrounge up the ¥69,300 needed pretty quick.
