Man of Steel Movie Masters less powerful than locomotive screenshot

The first official photos for Mattel's upcoming Jor-El and General Zod Movie Masters figures have appeared at the Los Angeles Times' Hero Complex and USA Today, respectively. Zod features a plain body suit while Jor-El features an eye-catching Kryptonian armor.

Currently there's no known collect-n-connect although Toy Fair may provide some answers. However, even in the absence of a CNC, Jor-El would still be a solid addition to most collections due to the costume's general fantasy (or possibly steam punk) vibe.

To quote Soundgarden… I’ve been away for too long. So what have I been up to? Turns out, I had a lot planned for the Toy Spy.  And I needed a testing ground away from The Toy Spy to make it happen. I settled in on free Kindle books. A month or so in, I...

Phat! Company surprises us with Magical Nia screenshot

Seems you Gurren Lagann fans, especially Nia fans, are about to get a nice surprise! Good Smile has just posted up a new entry on their website for Phat! Company's Magical Nia figure, releasing in July (just in time for Wonder Festival 2013 Summer) at ¥8,800. Nia will be 1/8-scale, sitting atop a little moon, and is based on an illustration by Sushio, with sculptwork by Ken Kawanishi (a.k.a. GRIMROCK!) and paint by Maimocchi (a.k.a. turunoyakata)

What's more, Nia comes with a very cute little Boota to display alongside of her. I imagine Pedro has got to be very happy with this, and he's probably off to pre-order her right now. You can go do that, too, since they're opening up tonight at retailers.

Adorable Valentine’s Day Cards for Geeks

I’m not one for Valentine’s day cards (Or any cards for that matter, except Yu-gi-Oh and Pokemon at one point.) but I have to admit, these cards from Paperwheel are pretty cute.

On top of that, they are really nicely designed. I love the texture to the cards. They also do other card designs, all of which feature the great textured look. They are simple and beautiful.

I wonder if they do business cards…

The Warcraft Film Finds It’s Director

It’s being reported that Moon and Source Code creator Duncan Jones is taking on the Warcraft film based in the Warcraft mythos.

This is great news as Duncan Jones is seemingly one of the brightest new directors in Hollywood. Moon was a modern sci-fi classic and while Source Code had issues, it has some really great ideas at it’s core. I have no doubt that a fantastic adaptation is in store.

    Art from Chris Stevens.

Captain Höek and Cadet Stimpy in street art form from the episode “Space Madness” which always creeped me out as a kid. The whole thing about eating soap always made me queasy.

September 2011 I started my Invisalign treatment. My teeth were very crooked in front and the front right tooth was chipped. from far away it looks like a great smile but up close it was a different picture. I’ll have detailed photos from my orthodontist next week. I have to say I have had some amazing experiences because of my blog.... [Continue Reading]

Technically, this is post #5,008. The actual 5,000th post is this one about synchronized dancing mascots in Japan.

Just wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of our Tumblr followers for all the likes and reblogs. As of this writing we have 113,770 followers and we’re averaging around 5,000-7,000 new followers each week. Craziness!

Also, huge thanks to everyone who regularly chimes in in the comments section and on our Facebook page. You know who you are. Reblogs are always nice, but we really dig interacting with you guys on a more chatty level.

We have big things in store for 2013 and you’ve probably already noticed a few changes like the new addition to our staff and swanky new video content that we’ll be rolling out on the reg.

Even more awesomeness is on the way. Look out.

    Thanks everyone. Albotas
