This day in Bat-History is special because today would have been Eartha Kitt's 85th Birthday. Sadly, she passed away on December 25th, 2008 at the age of 81. I can count back on that that day now and think about it. I was doing the BAT-BLOG pretty heavy at the time it happened and remember how weird it felt that she died on Christmas. That made the news twice as sad. She is deeply missed.



Of course her place in Bat-History is the fact that she took over the role of CATWOMAN in the 3rd and final season of the 1966 BATMAN TV Show. She replaced Julie Newmar who could not be placed in that season because of previous contract agreements and Eartha Kitt was pppuuurrffeecct! She totally got into the character and also had a really great voice. Check out the video below for a few highlights:

We have already seen the guys of Bakuman get his with the Nendoroid ray and now the title will be getting its first lady for the Nendoroid series. Revealed at Comiket 81, Phat! Company will be releasing the up and coming voice actress Miho Azuki.

Mikatan's Blog updated with a preview of this of this Nendoroid, and yeah... Even as a Nendoroid, she's pretty. I'm also a bit drawn into this Nendoroid because she's wearing normal clothes. You can only take school uniforms for so long. Nendoroid Miho has a sweet looking smile and some pretty eyes. Her other expressions include an embarrassed face with closed eyes and an opened mouth face for her voice acting. With such a face, a dubbing microphone and script that she can hold are also included. I feel tempted to already buy this figure just for that face and accessories. For the other arms, she has a set that are help together at her waist and set that closed together as if she's happy about something.

All of these are cute. I haven't purchased a Nendoroid figure in a long time but, again, she's really pretty and I'm drawn in by her outfit. Look for the Nendoroid Azuki pre-orders to start January 19, 2012 in Japan. Picking up Miho or not? Let us know in the comments.

Last week, we covered an upcoming action figure of the deceased icon, Steve Jobs. Since the figure's announcement, there has been a flurry of media coverage, which, it turns out, may not have been such a good thing. One of our readers, dolly, notified us that Apple Inc. has since served In Icons, the figure's maker, a Cease and Desist order regarding the production of these likenesses of Jobs. The figure has therefore been cancelled and In Icons aims to have a full refunds to those who pre-ordered. 

This is not the first time Apple has put the kibosh on a Jobs figure. A company in China called M.I.C. Gadget also attempted to manufacture a figurine of the Apple founder, but met a similar fate.
