New Tari Tari & Girls and Panzer Beach Queens spotted screenshot

If you’re like me and enjoyed watching TariTari and Girls and Panzer last year then you'll be happy to see these prototypes of Beach Queens by Wave. I particularly like the TariTari girls not just because their poses look like what I remember from the series, but Also their sculpts and body sizes look spot on. I'm looking forwards to seeing fully painted versions of all three of these ladies.

We get to see one new Girls and Panzer figure and while she is sort of cute, she is also really generic and not exactly my cup of tea. Maybe I am strange but I enjoyed Girls and Panzer more for the Tanks than the ladies.

What do you think Tomopeeps? Anyone interested in any of these four queens? Before you answer that, be sure to check out the gallery for all the pictures of these lovely queens.

Photos of Iron Man 3 Legends figures appear

Photos of Iron Man 3 Legends figures appear screenshot

Photos of the upcoming 6-inch Iron Man 3 figures have popped up in an Entertainment Earth pre-order. This wave, which includes an Iron Monger build-a-figure (BAF), is listed as being a Marvel Legends spin-off and specifically tied to the Iron Man 3 film (despite featuring comic armors).

The three selections shown are Heroic Age Iron Man, Classic Iron Man (with interchangeable horned helmet), and the Iron Patriot. All three previously had figures in the 3.75-inch scale in the Marvel Universe line ("Classic" also getting a figure in the Iron Man 2 line) and, to an extent, all three have some resemblance to their smaller incarnations.

I'm personally overjoyed to finally see an Iron Patriot in the scale as he's been a character that I've wanted for quite a while now. While he doesn't seem to be super-articulate (lacking a waist joint like the 3.75-inch version, for starters), Iron Patriot still represents a good rendition of the character. Given that the Marvel Universe one had an unmasked variant, I'm somewhat hoping that an alternate head might appear as a pack-in (yes, I know, it's unlikely). To clarify, I would mean Norman Osborn's head (ie, Dark Avengers) rather than Tony Stark (who now uses a similar deco in Ultimates) or James Rhodes (who uses a similar deco in Iron Man 3).

The "Classic" Iron Man looks like an older sculpt. That said, the interchangeable head and BAF piece make him a must-own regardless. The most impressive of the bunch is the Heroic Age armor, ironically the one I care the least about, which seems very well-jointed. Equally exciting is what we've seen of the Iron Monger BAF thus far. Hasbro did a pretty solid rendition of the character in their Iron Man 2 line so this should definitely have some promise. And, if the photos are any indication, he might be the first really big BAF in ages.

I imagine that we'll see the rest of the line-up at Toy Fair in another few weeks.

Sideshow announces Iron Man 3 license

Sideshow announces Iron Man 3 license screenshot

In news that should surprise exactly no one, Sideshow Collectibles have announced that they have a license for Iron Man 3, as well as that Hot Toys' figures will still be selling through Sideshow. I imagine that this will be a similar set-up to the past Iron Man films, where most of what Sideshow will make is higher-end busts and statues, along with a Sixth Scale series figure or two.

So it's not too much of a surprise that Sideshow has a license for the film, but what are you hoping to see from them this time around, Tomopop readers?

As part of the Comic Fiesta festivities, there was a fanart countdown where folks submit their artwork of the Comic Fiesta mascots Tea and Coffy. For CF2012 however, I was most humbled to see so many decided to include Mirai Suenaga in their work!

Comic Fiesta chose 20 folks from this pool and we gave them some Moekana T-shirts. I do want to thank everybody who included Mirai in their artwork which should be somewhere below - if not please shout out!

The "Egg Muff" Hawk Family Has Grown

$
0
0

The "Egg Muff's" are a fun loving group of dolls that love to sneak around and maybe, every once in awhile, drop in unexpectedly. Toni E. Hawk and her brother, Tom A. Hawk, are the most fun loving of the group. You might find then peaking around a corner, peaking over the windowsill, peaking through a keyhole in a door, or sneaking into your room. You just never know. Sometimes you might just catch a glimpse of their eyes and hair as they try to sneak a peak. If you listen carefully, you might even hear them laughing, even chuckling away. Sometimes you might even catch them doing a little jig. You just never know what they may do. They love to laugh. They love to have fun. But, most of all they love to play hide and peak! No, not hide and seek! Hide and peak!

Toni E. Hawk and Tom A. Hawk are twins. She might seem shy and well-mannered, but she is anything but. She is highly intelligent and loves a good joke. She isn't afraid of taking on her twin brother, Tom A. Hawk, or his best friend, Spike A Peek. In fact, Toni E. Hawk actually comes up with the best thought out practical jokes around which makes her just a little bit intimidating to the other member's of the Egg Muff Series. However, when everyone gets to laughing at Toni E. Hawk's latest gag everyone soon forgets how intimidated they are by her intelligence.

Tom A. Hawk is anything but shy and well-mannered. He, too, is highly intelligent and loves a good joke and isn't afraid of taking on his twin sister, Toni E. Hawk, or his best friend, Spike A Peek. Unlike his sister, however, his intelligence isn't intimidating at all. In fact, Tom A Hawk does an exceptional job of hiding his intelligence while showcasing his wit, his charm, and his good looks. The girls just can't resist a charming, good looking, bit of a devil in him type of guy with a tomahawk hairdo.

Spike A Peek is actually the most rambunctious of the Egg Muffs and, generally, the least level headed. He always lets the fun get the better of him and finds that, more often then not, he's in the "Muff House" (the Egg Muff Series version of a doghouse) being "muffed!" This is also known as a "time-out!" Spike A Peek doesn't use his "time-out" and being "muffed" wisely. He uses it as an opportunity to think up his next prank. The one he's going to play on Tom A. Hawk.

Nancy Dew Drop is actually the most well behaved of the Egg Muffs and, generally, the most level headed. Sometimes, even Nancy lets the fun get the better of her and you might just hear her giggling in the background. Just listen for a sweet "tee-hee-hee" and that will be Nancy Dew Drop.

Over the years Mr. and Mrs. Hawk's family has grown to eleven so Tom A. Hawk and Toni E. Hawk have a lot of brothers ans sisters to play jokes on.   With one short of a dozen the Hawk's thought it would be a good time to introduce them all to you.

Ditsy Daisy Hawk is the 3rd oldest and most assuredly the "ditsiest" of all the Hawk's. The 4th oldest is Dapper Devil Shamus Hawk and he is, well, a bit of a devil. He has a wicked sense of humor - in true Hawk fashion. The 5th oldest is Penelope Pinhead Hawk and she is every bit as lovely as as she is a pinhead. Common sense is not in her vocabulary.

The 3 middle children are Wild Irish Rose Hawk, Tangerine Lilly Hawk, and Henrietta Hawk. Wild Irish Rose Hawk is a "wild child" who is as carefree as she is wild. Tangerine Lilly Hawk takes after her father Tom A. Hawk. If someone is pulling a prank on someone else Lilly is the first person suspected. Henrietta is a little on the timid side and is always being taken by surprise.

The "babies" of the Hawk family are Devilish Cousin Andy Hawk, Cousin Reginald Reggie Pinhead Hawk, and Cousin Hillary's Secret Hawk. They are a trio of mischievous cousins that try their Aunt Nancy Dew Drops patience at times. After baby sitting them for a few hours Aunt Nancy has a migraine and has to go home to rest. That's when she leaves the baby sitting to Spike A Peek and that might actually be her mistake as he tends to put ideas into the mischievous cousins little heads. He is an "Egg Muff" after all.

Hobby scans bring you this month in new Gundam

Hobby scans bring you this month in new Gundam screenshot

Another month, another new round of hobby scans to make you cry for spending the money that you don't have. Gundam fans will be feeling the pinch especially through this round of scans as all lines are seeing action.

In the realm of Gunpla, Unicorn will once again dominate the spring as Episode 6 is being released. The Master Grade edition of the Jesta will be seeing its release in April for 4,000¥. In a bit of unexpected releases, the MG of the Sinanju will see a new version based on the anime. What's stranger is that it's coming really soon in March for a price of 7,500¥. As to what will be new on it, my guess is that it will come with the extra bazooka parts that have been featured as extras in the past. For those of you who missed out on the original (my first review on Tomo was of this kit), I would suggest grabbing this.

In additional Unicorn news, the Banshee Unicorn will have a glut of new releases. As was done with the Unicorn and Sinanju, the Banshee will be getting a head stand for its HGUC 1/144 kits. These will be packaged along with the upcoming May issue (released on March 25th) of Hobby Japan. For that head stand, you will need the new HGUC Unicorn Banshee 02 Norn, which will be released in March for 1,700¥. Lastly for Unicorn, the recently released HGUC Rozen Zulu will be getting a clear armor version for 2,900¥. No information yet as to when it will release.

There's other news to report on as well, including more from Robot Damashii, the MG Tallgeese II, and the new faces of the SD Gundam BB Senshi lineup. Check out this news as well as the gallery after the jump.

The major shakeup to the SD Gundam BB Senshi lineup is that it is for the first time including mobile suits from Gundam SEED. In addition, they are replacing characters already represented by previous Gundams. The Ryuubi Gundam will now be modeled after the GAT-X105 Strike Gundam. In this month's scans, we are treated to see two new characters making their first appearance, the ZGMF-X42S Destiny Gundam along with the MBF-02 Astray Gold Frame. It's not stated which characters they are taking over for or if they're new characters, but I must say it's a nice change of pace. I can't wait to see how they'll musha the other SEED units, especially ones like Providence, Freedom, GINNs and BuCues.

In other Gunpla news, the Tallgeese II will be getting its own Master Grade release. As you might expect given current trends, this is headed to the Bandai Premium Shop. Orders will become available on January 25th with a price tag of 3,990¥. Fans of 08th MS Team will be happy to know that the EZ-8 will finally be getting its HGUC release this April for 1,600¥. Also releasing that month will be the Real Grade release of the Destiny Gundam for 2,625¥. Sadly, it doesn't look like it will come with the effect pieces for the wings as the HG 1/144 and MG 1/100 Extreme Burst versions had. It kinda kills the kit for me, but it should be a great plamo regardless.

Lastly, in Robot Damashii news, more Unicorn will be the trend. The Full Armor Unicorn Gundam in its Unicorn Mode will be given a release this May for the price of 5,500¥. If you like lots of weapons, this will be the perfect figure for you. In addition, the Banshee Norn will also be getting its own RD this May for 3,990¥. As the Banshee wasn't previously released in its Unicorn mode, the payoff will be this figure.

Oh and yeah, who wants those new G Gundam units made into plamo immediately?
