    Tekken X Street Fighter Minimates wave 2 soon screenshot

    The second wave of Diamond Select Toys' Tekken X Street Fighter (not to be confused with the similar-sounding Street Fighter X Tekken) will be hitting retail soon. The wave of twelve Minimates, some of which are store exclusives, sold in 2-packs.

    Comic book stores and specialty outlets seem the clear winner, as they'll be carrying the exclusive Rolento vs. Kuma and Hugo vs. Heihachi packs. Kuma (the bear) looks particularly adorable and features so many customized parts that you'd hardly recognize him as a Minimate. Not that Rolento is a slouch, mind you, but he's clearly the lesser (but still awesome) figure in that pack. Heihachi also looks great. I love that smirk on his face.

    Toys "R" Us will be getting an exclusive Rufus vs Julia pack and a Chun Li vs. Hwoarang pack. This strikes me as being a little odd, since one would assume Kuma would appeal to more people. Rufus looks pretty good, though, and I like the Hwoarang.

    Both Toys "R" Us and comic/specialty retailers will also be carrying the Ryu vs. Yoshimitsu and Abel vs. Kazuya packs. I really wonder how many different releases Ryu has seen in the Minimates line now. Otherwise, Abel looks pretty neat and the Kazuya seems decent enough.

    I'm excited for the Kuma/Rolento pack and may consider the Heihachi/Hugo. I like the Hwoarang as well, but just not the Chun Li she's packed with. Any of these strike your fancy, Tomopoppians?

    PAK Ledger Joker, Catwoman up for wider pre-order screenshot

    For those who resisted the urge to pre-order the Play Arts Kai The Dark Knight (Ledger) Joker and The Dark Knight Rises (Hathaway) Catwoman from BBTS last month, the two are now available for pre-order through Japanese retailers.

    This set of pre-order listings include additional photos (without coloration issues) and information. We now know that the Ledger Joker will come with two alternate heads, one with faded face paint and the other features the clown mask from the movie's opening robbery scene (could instead just fit over a normal head?), as well as an alternate set of hands, knife, and two playing cards. The Hathaway Catwoman comes with an alternate head (not sure if it's just a goggles on head), three alternate hands, and a pistol.

    Unfortunately, the backdrop doesn't seem to flatter Catwoman so the photos aren't great. The Joker's paintwork looks great for his outfit, but the head paint seems weak. Plus I'm not fond of the shadowing effects in places. That said, the Ledger Joker will likely be my first Play Arts Kai figure when he's released in May alongside Catwoman.

    Before I discovered Otaku culture, I would have thought that a girl with a tail was odd - but now I find it perfectly acceptable ^^;

    From about October 2008 to May 2009, for oddball reasons, RS Lightning and Cruisin’ Lightning McQueen were oversprayed with red after the tampo decals were applied – no one seemed to have noticed for the 8-9 month period at quality control – while technically a variant, it’s release was so common and by then, everyone [...]
