The second wave of Diamond Select Toys' Tekken X Street Fighter (not to be confused with the similar-sounding Street Fighter X Tekken) will be hitting retail soon. The wave of twelve Minimates, some of which are store exclusives, sold in 2-packs.
Comic book stores and specialty outlets seem the clear winner, as they'll be carrying the exclusive Rolento vs. Kuma and Hugo vs. Heihachi packs. Kuma (the bear) looks particularly adorable and features so many customized parts that you'd hardly recognize him as a Minimate. Not that Rolento is a slouch, mind you, but he's clearly the lesser (but still awesome) figure in that pack. Heihachi also looks great. I love that smirk on his face.
Toys "R" Us will be getting an exclusive Rufus vs Julia pack and a Chun Li vs. Hwoarang pack. This strikes me as being a little odd, since one would assume Kuma would appeal to more people. Rufus looks pretty good, though, and I like the Hwoarang.
Both Toys "R" Us and comic/specialty retailers will also be carrying the Ryu vs. Yoshimitsu and Abel vs. Kazuya packs. I really wonder how many different releases Ryu has seen in the Minimates line now. Otherwise, Abel looks pretty neat and the Kazuya seems decent enough.
I'm excited for the Kuma/Rolento pack and may consider the Heihachi/Hugo. I like the Hwoarang as well, but just not the Chun Li she's packed with. Any of these strike your fancy, Tomopoppians?
