SHF Lelouche leads Bandai for this month's hobby scans
This isn't the biggest month in terms of new announcements, but there is the joy of seeing the items from shows now being confirmed for their release. Come April, D-Arts Charizard will be released upon the masses for ¥3,800. Also coming in April was the first shown, then not approved, but now for release S.H. MonsterArts King Kong for ¥5,500.
The big draw this month is the assortment of new goods coming for Code Geass. Knightmare Frames are making their comeback in the Robot Damashii lines, as we'll be seeing releases of the Glasgow Akito ver. in April for ¥3,500 and the impressive Lancelot Grail in July for ¥4,410 and only from the Tamashii Web Shop. The jewel of the collection is the reveal of S.H. Figuarts Lelouche. Not only will you get the fabulous cape as an add-on, multiple faces featuring the Geass, two extra helmets and plenty of hand accessories will be included. For those wanting to start their rebellion, SHF Lelouche will be out in April for ¥3,990.
Lots of goods so far but I imagine that the draw for you all here is Charizard and Lelouche. How many of you are taking the plunge on either of those or are some of you will be adventurous and are going for SHM King Kong?

Little Gunpla, lots of Robot Damashii Gundam in new scans
For the past couple of months, Gunpla has been a series of must have releases. Month after month has been filled with tons of new announcements. That's not really the case this month with the announcement of only one previously-unannounced kit, the HGUC Zaku II High Mobility Type Shin Matsunaga ver. It will be released in March for ¥1,600.
However, the slow flow of news cannot be said for the Robot Damashii line. While we saw these as prototypes and display models, we're now getting the confirmation of their release. The massive announcement comes in the form of the Robot Damashii Ver. Ka Signature Xi Gundam. It's weird to see a spotlight on the relatively unknown novel Hathaway's Flash, but I will not complain at all since I love the designs. The release is massive as it looks to be twice as tall as the RD RX-78-2 Gundam. There's no price tag announced yet, but orders for it will begin on January 25th for its Tamashii Web Shop release in June 2013. Considering the Ver Ka Signature line is also looking at adding the Gundam MkV, I'm very enthused with the direction their taking.
The ol' fashioned Robot Damashii line is doing just fine as well. The next 30 days will see the releases of both the Gundam Epyon and Aegis Gundam, but it's what's coming in April that has me excited. April will see the release of the Aries from Gundam Wing. Better yet about the Aries is that it is indeed transformable. While I wish it were Gunpla, I'll gladly take an Aries any way I can get it. It will be released in April for ¥3,500. The other release for the month is the Extreme Gundam from the series of Gundam Extreme Vs. series of games. Being honest, I don't really like the design but it should at least make for an interesting figure. It will also be available in April for ¥4,200.

Hoards of Dragon Quest monsters storm internet retailers
I have always thought the bestiary in the Dragon Quest series boasted some of the most impressive and memorable designs in gaming. They exuded personality and charm and I would be hard-pressed to pick one of them that I did not like. The series' slimes have mainly gotten the limelight as a sort of mascot but I love it when the other characters get their share of merchandise as well. So, I am extremely pleased to post about this new round of toys. Yes, there are some returning monsters but there is also enough new blood to make this merchandise worth a look.
The latest batch includes a PVC Monster Museum Special Set (¥2500), in which five figures of monsters are set up in a cool display stand-ish thing that has their art and a little description (in Japanese) of each one. The stand itself is pretty nifty. Aside from showcasing the figures, it also has little nods to the series, like the staircase image on the base. The monsters included are the She-Slime, Tonbrero, Metal King Slime, Blue Dragon, and Bubble Slime. The figures range in size from 30 to 50 millimeters. The Dragon Quest Monster Museum Special Set ships in late February 2013.
Four new plushes are also up for pre-order, each of them including a special item code for use in Dragon Quest X. The first two are plush versions of one of the races from Dragon Quest X, the Pukuripo (both boy and girl versions). They look a cutely doll-like with faux button eyes and embroidered blush on their cheeks. The boy doll stands at 240 millimeters, with the girl being 220 millimeters tall. Both cost ¥2000 and ship mid-March 2013. The remaining two plushes are the Tonbrero (the blue pig in the wizard's hat) and the Pink Momon (note that the generic Momon was released previously). Like the Pukuripo pair, these two cost ¥2000 each. I am pretty psyched about the addition of the Tonbrero, with its bright colors and comically enormous hat. New monsters added to the plush line-up is always a good thing, which is why I am a tad disappointed that the Pink Momon was selected instead of another monster who hasn't seen any representation merchandise-wise.
Any DQ fans interested in pre-ordering any of these new items?

This months scans give us a glimpse over the Horizon!
I hope you're a fan of Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon but if this months scans are anything to go by, you might very well be turned shortly.
First up, Ichiban Kuji are taking a stab for your wallets with a set of chibi figures of some of the main heroines of the show! We have Horizon, Tomo, Neito and Mary trying to grab your attention, but the lack of the totally awesome Kimi is a major blow! We need more Kimi Aoi figures dammit!!!
Next up, there's a massively impressive figure of Kazuno, one of the android maids who perform a variety of tasks. She didn't last long though, only appearing in the first couple of episodes from the first season but she sure knows how to make an impact, very much like her figure. She appeared back at the megahobby expo but now it's officially official!
Of course, who else would make a figure like this except Alter? So expect massive delays for her but for now, all we know is that she's scheduled for a 2013 release. Price will no doubt be wallet busting!
Nevertheless, I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this figure. And she's in good hands with Alter!

These beach queen scans might warm up the winter nights!!
Wave must be doing something right because, despite their diminutive size, lack of major details and just being rather plain boring, the beach queen line is going from strength to strength and this months magazine scans show us the next additions to the line.
Girl of the moment, Asuna from Sword Art Online gets her Beach Queen debut and Chiyu from Accel World joins her as well. Finally, Miho from Girls und Panzer brings up the rear with a custom and rather cute base which seems rather fitting for her. Sand Tank!!! And a little bit of news sneaks in with Miho! It seems that her teammate, Hana, will be joining her next in the Volks Charagumin line later in 2013.
For now Chiyu and Miho are planned for a June and July release. Miho will be a little more expensive though, no doubt due to the base but no words on when pre-orders are expected to open. Can't imagine that you have to wait too long though,
