OK, since today, in the United States, is what we call "Black Friday", I thought I'd do this post to share some fun new Batman Products that are out now and that you can order online at a site called KIMMY SHOP. This place mainly caters to Parents & Grandparents who are looking for Christmas gifts to give little kids. But the cool thing is that they actually offer a ton of cool unusual pieces of Bat-Merchandise!

The list includes: a Batman Pop-Up Game with incredible graphics of some major villains, a Batman Super 3-D Dartboard Set ( the Joker! ), and a Batman Stadium Camping Chair with graphics inspired by the BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD cartoon.

Here we have 2 fun items for school, a Batman Backpack and Lunchbox. Then sort of along the same line, is this cool Batman Carry-On Luggage ( perfect for Holiday traveling ), and the last 2 items are kinda weird I know, but they are "the Dark Knight", a Justice League Toothbrush and a serious Bat-Logo Thermos!

Like I said, all of these items are available at a fun place called KIMMY SHOP, just click here!

Yamato's Frankenweenie goods up for pre-order screenshot

Just when you thought the Frankenweenie merchandise rush was over with, the movie rises from the grave with two new toys from Yamato. First up is a diorama of Victor and his beloved dog, Sparky, sharing a heartfelt reunion in the attic. Replaying the fun scene from the movie, Sparky's undead tail can be removed and placed in the bucket. The diorama's base measures 210 by 145 millimeters in width with a 14 centimeter tall Victor and a 85 millimeter tall Sparky. Set to ship in January 2013, the Frankenweenie Victor and Sparky diorama costs ¥5715.

Yamato's second offering is a Sparky Bobbing Head (read: bobble head). I love how the pup's eyes are angled a tad upward. It somehow makes him look even more endearing. The Bobbing Head's base is decorated with the same little dog heads found on Sparky's tombstone in the movie. This 17 centimeter tall figure is available for pre-order now to the tune of ¥3620. He will be released in January 2013.

Custom Delights: Davidkraig's Goblin King screenshot

Davidkraig is at it again! The talented customizer has once more come up with something that's intricately detailed in his Goblin King custom Micro Munny. Yes, there's a 2.5-inch Micro Munny serving as a base for the acrylic paints and Sculpey, and you can kind of see the shape of its head through the work David has done.

Check out the photos David has sent along in the gallery, and let us know what you think about the piece. I'm pretty impressed with how this all turned out and how he's managed to sculpt a lot of detail into the little green guy.

New 52 Justice League Cyborg Figure Review by DC Collectibles

The newest member to join the Justice League collection is Cyborg! I have been pretty excited about this figure because he is actually a pretty cool superhero. He has really evolved through the years. He went from being a new member in the Teen Titans, to the leader of the Teen Titans, to a founding

Hot Toys Phil Coulson strategically goes up for pre-order screenshot

Hot Toys' 1/6-scale Agent Phil Coulson, that enormously popular guy in a suit, is now available for pre-order.

As previously mentioned, Agent Coulson comes with guns, playing cards, and a file folder. Additionally, he apparently has the hearts of many fans (not pictured) although those probably aren't included.

While obviously no Nick L. Fury or superhero, Phil Coulson will no doubt be a competent addition to your Hot Toys' The Avengers (as well as S.H.I.E.L.D.) line-up.

  • 11/23/12--21:09: Manga and Anime Culture

  • As you may know, Japan is brought up on manga and anime and even as adults, citizens enjoy these two mediums which are seen as being childish by some societies outside of Japan.
I find it unfortunate that folks feel pressure to give up what they still love from their childhood. A BBC reporter asked me if I felt childish liking anime culture and owning figures - I replied by asking him whether he owned Star Wars toys. He replied that he stopped when he reached the age of 12 as that stuff "was for kids."

Everybody is entitled to their own opinions - going through life thinking that everybody should think like you would not be realistic. However do remember its *their* opinion and it *must not* affect *your* life - under no circumstances should you give up what you love despite what others around you say or feel.
Is their anybody around you telling you that you are childish for liking manga/anime?

Anyway, did I go off at a tangent? I think yes. Back to the subject - at the front of many Japanese stores (in particular pharmacies, hairdressers and book stores) you will often see manga/anime type artwork like this one here. Its usually drawn with some sort of promotional message.
In this case its Asuka from Evangelion with a note saying that any new customer will get a free haircut if they dye their hair at the same time.

Do they do this sort of art in your neck of the woods?

I will testify to the 'power of positivity' a toy provides! Received this "folk art plush" from the folks at Cozy Rampage when I was in hospital for Stroke in 2010, and this indeed cheered me up! It while might not be your traditional "art toy" of the urban streets or designer toy character persuasion I blog about daily, it embodied a single thing (some say "most important") that which makes a

  • 11/24/12--00:00: Alter announces more delays
  • Alter announces more delays screenshot

Alter is known for making fabulous and very detailed figures. They produce them with an attitude of "It's not done till it's done right." As collectors we appreciate this, however this also means that delays are bound to happen. According to Alter's blog several delays were recently announced, below is a list of the following figurines that were delayed.

    November to Early December
    Tales of Xillia: Milla Maxwell
Sentou Yousei Yukikaze: ALMECHA FFR-41MR Meivu "Yukikaze"
Sentou Yousei Yukikaze: ALMECHA FRX-99 Rafe "Type Hammerhead"
    November to December
Strike Witches 2: Eila Ilmatar Juutilainen
Toaru Majutsu no Index II: Accelerator

For me, the delays are a mixed curse and a blessing. I really want to see Mila Maxwell up close and can't wait to add her to my collection! However the delay on Nodoka Manabe gives me time to wonder if I should go ahead and pre-order her to add her to my collection, as she is not sold out everywhere yet. Well, you know, around here we always like to say. "Reserve it or regret it."
