China says protectionist sentiment rising in U.S. as deals fall apart
China said on Thursday protectionist sentiment is rising in the United States and criticised Washington for blocking a high-profile Chinese takeover of a U.S. financial firm on security grounds. Ant Financial's planned $1.2 billion purchase of transfer firm MoneyGram International Inc collapsed last week after a U.S. government panel rejected the deal over national security concerns. It was the most high-profile Chinese deal to be torpedoed since Donald Trump was elected U.S. president a year ago on promises to put America first and protect U.S. jobs from foreign competitors.
The Rite Aid Corporation Stock Rebound Is Brewing up Quite Nicely
A couple of weeks ago, I suggested Rite Aid Corporation (NYSE:RAD) shares were hinting at a rebound rally that was, amazingly enough, worth a shot. The company had been beleaguered for months as the intended deal with Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc (NASDAQ:WBA) unraveled far longer than expected to complete, and ended up being much smaller than planned.

Needle Felted Flower Garden Shadow Box Tray Picture Free E-Pattern
For my last needle felted flower creation I decided I wanted to create a flower garden scene using a combination of the dark blue and dark green 100% wool felt 12" by 12" needle felted sheets I had bought felted to a backing of Nu-foam.
My flower garden picture was going to have a blue sky with white clouds, green grass, and brown soil. To create the soil I decided to use some of the wonderful medium brown alpaca roving from my sister's alpaca, Ivy. For the white clouds in the sky I decided to use some of the wonderful white alpaca roving from my sister's alpaca, Sunflower. All of this I was going to enclose in a 8 3/4" by 6 1/4" by 2" deep unfinished shadowbox tray sponge painted with lively spring colors.
I decided to create the needle felted flowers using stainless steel flower cookie cutter molds that I had. The flower cookie cutter molds came in a 3/4", 1", and 2" and larger sizes. I also decided to use a 1" leaf from a set of stainless steel leaf molds that I also had.
I also wanted my flowers to be combination of multi-layers of petals and a single layer of petals. I wanted the flowers and leaves to be different colors and for some of the flowers to have stems. I decided to use medium blue, dark blue, lilac, purple, pink, black, apricot roving, white alpaca roving from Sunflower, and medium brown alpaca roving from Ivy. Lime green roving and sage green roving would be the colors for the flowers leaves.
I was pleased with the way my needle felted flower picture turned out and decided to create and e-pattern out of it so you could create a needle felted flower picture of your own.
My pattern includes tips for needle felting, step-by-step instructions for completing my flower picture, a colored flower picture instruction steps sheet so you can see what piece belongs to what step, and a colored flower picture layout sheet that is approximately the size of your needle felted flower picture.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is hitting Switch with a playable Funky Kong
As announced in the Nintendo Direct Mini this morning, Tropical Freeze will hit the Switch in a few months.
No, Nintendo isn't calling it Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze POLAR EDITION or anything, just the plain old original title. It's the original game, with multiplayer and all (including portable multiplayer), with a new twist -- Funky Kong! He's a "chill" character as Nintendo calls him, which permeates throughout his entire life philosophy and playstyle. Funky sports a double jump, hover, infinite rolls, and infinite corkscrews underwater -- he seems like an easy mode of sorts and looks really fun to play.
This port will arrive on May 4.
The World Ends With You -Final Remix- is coming to Nintendo Switch
Ten years after its initial release, a port of The World Ends With You, with the new subtitle -Final Remix- will now hit the Nintendo Switch.
The new Switch version will allow for both touch controls as well as Joy-Con controls. Biggest thing, however, is that it will include a new scenario that will flesh out the story even more.
The World Ends With You -Final Remix- hits later this year.
China says diversifying FX reserves, warns report on U.S. bonds may be 'fake'
China is diversifying its foreign exchange reserves in order to safeguard their value, the country's currency regulator said on Thursday, while dismissing a media report the government is halting or reducing its purchases of U.S. debt. Bloomberg News reported on Wednesday that Chinese officials reviewing the country's vast foreign exchange holdings had recommended slowing or halting purchases of U.S. Treasury bonds amid a less attractive market for them and rising U.S.-China trade tensions. The report sent U.S. Treasury yields to 10-month highs and the dollar lower.

Yep, that long-rumored Assassin's Creed Rogue remaster is real
We've heard tales of Assassin's Creed Rogue getting the remaster treatment for months now, and with a new trailer, Ubisoft has confirmed it. It's coming to PS4 and Xbox One (with Pro and X enhancements) on March 20. It'll run at 1080p by default, or in 4K with said enhancement-capable machines.
Evidently all of the DLC from the original will be included, which involves two bonus missions, two packs that include a jumbled set of items, and outfits -- one of which is brand new and pays homage to Bayek from the newly minted Assassin's Creed Origins.
Rogue had somewhat of a mix reception at launch, but given that it draws largely from the much loved Assassin's Creed IV, it'll probably be worth a second look for many of you.

The Switch's lifetime sales in France surpass the Wii U
Earlier this week, the Switch beat out the Wii U's lifetime sales in Japan. The same Switch that's been out for 10 months against the Wii U's five plus years. That same milestone is now happening all over the world it seems, as the Switch just pushed 911,000 units in France, which beat out the Wii U's 832,000 lifetime. Nintendo of Italy has also revealed that it's the fastest-selling console of all time in the region.
Let's break this down a bit. Right now, the Switch is hovering around 10 million units sold as a conservative estimate, as full figures haven't been released yet post-holidays. The Wii U, which is now discontinued, dead, and buried, sold 13.56 million units. When all of the sales numbers come in we could find out that the Switch has already outsold the Wii U.
It's probably just a matter of weeks, at maximum.

Furi isn't flawless on Switch but it's still darn good
A few minutes into Furi's new Nintendo Switch port and all the moments of pain, satisfaction, and calming relief came rushing back to me. The Game Bakers' hybrid melee action and twin-stick shooting game has made the transition about as well as I'd hoped -- and my ability to recognize tells and parry attacks isn't quite as sad as expected given how totally out of practice I am.
The idea of a boss-rush adventure in which you've got all your abilities from moment one still really speaks to me. That foundation is just excellent, and the distinct cast, imaginative floating worlds, adrenaline-inducing synth soundtrack, and surprisingly curious story bolster it further. It's one of those games that strives to carve out a unique identity for itself and does so in spades.
I found Furi perfectly functional in handheld mode but much preferred playing on a big screen with the better-feeling Pro Controller. A significant portion of the game uses a fairly zoomed-out camera, and it can be a tad hard to clearly make out all the details. On the other hand, Furi isn't as crisp on a larger display; it's not an identical-looking port. By the second fight, though, my eyes had adjusted.
I also encountered the occasional hitch during heated boss fights. These hiccups weren't distracting enough to disrupt my flow, but they were still perceivable all the same. With those graphical and performance quibbles in mind, I'd recommend Furi on other platforms first and foremost -- unless you're geared up to play this as a handheld title, in which case, go for it. You'll come away happy.
This version includes everything released on other platforms to date including an extra boss, The Flame. At $20, it's also right in line with the others. I think that's a fitting price so long as you're willing to practice, practice, practice. Furi isn't the type of game you can fumble your way through.
And for all you newcomers, a word of advice: don't let the sewer boss get you down. He's a jerk!
