Paisley Fawn unveils her DesignerCon exclusives
Tomorrow is DesignerCon and I thought I'd sneak in a little last minute preview of some very special exclusive designer plushes that will be available at the event. Paisley Fawn's trademark Smudges will take on special Zombie and Mammoth designs, made exclusively for the convention. My favorite is definitely Brea the Mammoth. Not only is her design positively adorable but it ties into a local landmark, the La Brea Tar Pits (where I had visited many a time as a child). Notice the "tar" splotches on Brea's fur. What a tragic critter! Brea the Mammoth smudge is limited to 6 pieces.
The "Return of the Living Smudge" plushes may have missed Halloween by a few days but that doesn't make them any less charming. The most eye-catching feature of this character is its pink, exposed brain, complete with painted gore. This Smudge is limited to 18 pieces, with 10 being sold at the con. Both of these limited edition Smudges will cost US$60 each. Other members of the Smudge family, including the Stinky Skunk and Rusty Red Panda, will be sold at Paisley Fawn's booth (#404).
Be sure to stay tuned to Tomopop for more DesignerCon coverage after the event.

James Kochalka plushies!
You can check them out on her Etsy page. They are a very limited run of just 25.
It's noteworthy that these are licensed by Top Shelf, a publisher of Mr. Kochalka's work. How great is that! A collaboration between a small publisher, an independent plush artist, and a comics rock star. Makes one happy to live in a world where awesome stuff like this is coming together!
