Sylvia and Gus like to do everything together. Whether they're at the grocery store, or at the movies, or at the library - they're always together. It doesn't even matter if they're just out standing in the snow. They're always happy to be together. Or course, if it's snowing Gus always brushes a path for Sylvia to walk in.
Gus is a 6" stand alone painted wood snowman with a painted and blushed face. He has a painted black wood hat, cinnamon arms, a flannel vest, and fringed cotton scarf tied around his neck. And, he is carrying his broom.
Gus always likes to be prepared. So, he always brings his broom on his excursions with Sylvia. You just never know if there will be any new fallen snow that he may need to brush away. Can't have Sylvia falling - now can we?

Linda's How-Do-I Series Free E-Book - How To Make An 8" Self-Standing Snowman Woodcraft
As a crafter I just love making snowmen. The reason is they are just so versatile. They can be made out of just about anything: cloth, various types of clay, paper, needle felted out of roving, created from various fibers, made of yarn, wood, or combinations of any of the mediums mentioned. Style wise they can be country, primitive, shabby chic, Victorian, folk-art, rustic, or woodland.
I used to make cloth and wood snowmen and a couple of years ago started making needle felted snowmen out of alpaca roving.
One of the easiest snowmen I made years ago was a wood snowman I named "Stand Alone John." He's an 8" self-standing snowman made out of 5/8" pine wood. He's completely painted and has a wool fringed scarf and baby sock hat on the top of his head. A pompom adorns the top of his hat and just adds to his charm.
He's a wonderful decoration for the Christmas holiday season and during the winter months. I enjoyed making him and thought you might enjoy making one of your own. So, I created a free e-book for you. Enjoy!

First Look VA001 Milk Optimus Prime Clear Figure - Sofubi Tranformers Collection From Milk x Soap Studio

The people at Milk + Soap Studio out of Asia are releasing what appears to be the first in their Sofubi Tranformers Collection From Milk + Soap Studio. The VA-001 Milk Optimus Prime is an interesting new vinyl figure that is made of clear and white opaque plastics based on the G1 style Optimus Prime character. The small scale figure does not appear to transform, or include any other accessories. The item is priced at 1,080 JPY / $11 USD, with what looks like a release date in October. With memories of Harajuku, Venus hair is a blended dark auburn, with asymetric cut fringe, straight shoulder length with ever so boufant behive.
Her eyes surrounded in shades of violet and pink with lids bearing a stroke of gold, solid black liner and arched dark coffee brows. Her piercing powder blue eyes are offset with cyan. Lips the colour of dried dark rose.
A dark candy pink jacket of 'leather' is adorned in gold ring applique chainmail, geometric cube sleeves topstitched and further embelished in gold metal studs. Closures of gold magic disc belt (naturally matching her heels and platform soles) clasped in a SUPER custom belt buckle.
She slips off her jacket to reveal a white cotton long sleeve T'shirt with attached white organza geometric neck flounce. Her kilt skirt of pleated 'wool' tartan has pleats secured by gold metalic studs to match her jacket detailing... of course.
Maybe just a small hint as to just what kind of tea party this is going to be!
