Daicon Opening Animations: A Love Letter to Japanese Pop Culture
Commentor Aaron M. Fitzwater alerted us to the awesomeness of the DAICON Opening Animations. These were amateur projects created by the people who would go on to form Gainax (Eva, FLCL, Gunbuster). The first one (1981) is a bit rough around the edges but the second one (1983) looks anything but amateur. As brownkidd himself said, “If Albotas could be summed up in one YouTube clip, it would be the DAICON IV opening.”

Strike now and pre-order Alter's Erica
I've long been a fan of Alter's ever-expanding line of Strike Witches cuties, and it looks like they're ready for yet another success with this upcoming version of flying ace Erica. While most people know I'm not always a fan of shorter hair, Erica manages to look quite cute with her kemonomimi features, and I definitely love the darker black jacket compared to some of the others in the line.
One thing that definitely stands out compared to some of the others is that she has multiple face options. Her normal expression is fine enough, but I really, really like the cheerier salute with her officer's cap! With most of the witches looking fierce, it's a nice change to see Erica perform what looks like a flyby salute to fellow allies. If you'd like to pick this puppy up yourself, she'll be available come December for about ¥8,800.

So far he has a few Statues from both THE DARK KNIGHT ( Batman and The Joker )and THE DARK KNIGHT RISES( Busts of Batman, Bane, and Catwoman ), a Framed Batarang Display, and a Tumbler Batmobile...AWESOME!!

New BATMAN, RIDDLER, and TWO-FACE Tattoo Art!!
OK, these photos sent in by a Bat-Blog Fan are not the completed Tattoo Artwork, but more along the lines of showing "a work in progress". There is still some more coloring to do but so far it's all looking really good! As you can see, he has Batman, Riddler, and Two-Face. Also, this Bat-Ink is being done by Citrus City Tattoo. Good work guys!
