Holy halibut, Batman! Vinyl Idolz adds some classic Batman tv show characters to its line
Funko (via its Vinyl Sugar imprint) will be releasing Vinyl Idolz figures based on characters from the popular 1960s Batman tv show. Pre-orders are currently available.
The line-up, which is expected to release this October, will consist of Batman (Adam West), Robin (Burt Ward), Joker (Cesar Romero), and Batgirl (the recently departed Yvonne Craig). Expect to pay around US$20 apiece.
While I'm not sure that I like the Vinyl Idolz style, at least I like the character selection. The style has really worked better for some characters and the high point of the line may be the facial expressions (such as we saw on the Ghostbusters and Seinfeld figures). To this end, Funko did a neat job capturing the lines on Adam West's face and giving the Joker an amusing expression. However, my real hope is that Funko will finish the set out with more villains including a Burgess Meredith Penguin.
