Kotobukiya pulls the trigger on D-Style Megatron
[Added a second, clearer image from AmiAmi to the gallery]
No real surprise that Kotobukiya wouldn't be able to stop at just one. Over at the All Japan Model Hobby Show 2014 they've revealed the follow up to their previously announced Transformers D-Style Optimus Prime will be none other than the Decepticon tyrant Megatron. If you aren't familiar with D-Style they're a series of super deformed robot model kits, largely (but not exclusively) consisting of Takara Tomy robot lines like Brave series and Zoids.
Like with Prime, Megatron will include a total of three expressions (angry, smiling, and frowning) along with his energon ball and chain and a mini version of his gun mode. Not a whole lot to go on just yet, we're still waiting on details for Prime, but more when get it.

Kotobukiya has a titan of an Eren Yeager model on the way
Plastic models aren't just for giant robots. Giant humanoid monsters need a little plamo loving, too. Kotobukiya is showing off an updated look at their upcoming tian form Eren Yeager model kit from Attack on Titan at All Japan Hobby Model Show 2014. Kits like these are more or less the Koto answer to action figures like figma or S.H. Figuarts. The finished kit stands 160 mm tall (about 6.24 inches) and fully articulated, complete with extra hands and a pair of expressions.
No clear release plans or prices announced yet aside from it coming out in 2015. I'm sure they'll being adding more Titans to the series as they go, and with some luck some smaller, in-scale human figures, too.

Titan is bringing some Doctor Who Capaldi goodies to NYCC
Titan is heading to New York Comic Con and they're bringing enough Doctor Who stuff to fill a TARDIS! If you've become a fast fan of Capaldi's no-nonsense, somewhat disgruntled take on the Doctor then you'll definitely want to see what they're bringing along. For starters they'll be offering an exclusive three inch 12th Doctor figure based on his debut adventure in England. He features the coat he got off of a homeless man while suffering from a bout of insanity (or was it lucidity?) after his regeneration.
They're also bringing along a number of figures that will be available at NYCC first. Starting off is a 6.5 inch figure of the 12th Doctor in his now iconic suit with the red lining. Next they're offering a set of what they're calling every numbered Doctor, though the 9th Doctor seems to be missing. Titled the Regeneration Collection it features all of the doctors as they first appeared with the exception of the 11th Doctor as we last saw him and the 12th Doctor in his standard outfit. The set also includes River Song as she appeared in the episode Let's Kill Hitler. In addition they'll be bringing along extra big in the form of an eight inch TARDIS as it appeared at the Doctor's grave on Trenzalore.
And it's not just figures they're offering. They'll also be selling a number of flashy t-shirts and comic books you can find shots of in the gallery. I kinda want that Regeneration t-shirt. You can check them out at NYCC from October 9 to 12.

Astro Boy rockets into Funko's Hikari line
If you were surprised by Funko's previous choices for its Hikari line, get ready for another curveball: Funko is adding Astro Boy to its sofubi series. Astro Boy (star of, well, Astro Boy) will be available in a "Classic Metallic" deco and an Entertainment Earth-exclusive "NVS" deco.
I like both designs and have difficulty in calling which one might be cooler. The Classic Metallic version (which is only really metallic on the non-"flesh" parts?) captures the appearance of his animated counterpart while the NVS makes for a nice evil mirror. Otherwise, Astro Boy is a pretty neat, relatively unexpected choice for a line that's thus far focused exclusively on characters from Western media.
The Classic Metallic Astro Boy is limited to 3,000 pieces while the EE-exclusive NVS version is limited a far smaller 750 pieces. The two can be pre-ordered for US$50 each and are slated for a November release. As always, check out Funko's Facebook page for a chance to win one.
