It had turned into one of those days: too long, too tired, with a too tired little girl fighting through my blinding headache. Then I took the time to gather up links for this post and found myself inspired and calmed. I guess that’s the reason I blog, in a nutshell. Here’s to a calmer weekend […]

Disclosure: I was provided with free passes to the Discovery Times Square museum to participate in the Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. exhibit. Any and all opinions are my own. Don’t try to tell me when you are watching anyone of the AVENGERS for the first time that you haven’t ever wondered what would it be like […]

Marlena "Toast of Tinsel Town" LE 50    Resin BJD  $475.

Marlena, the Toast of Tinsel town, will seduce you with her languid stare and sinuous blonde locks. Wearing a satin 3 piece Tuxedo outfit and sporting her top hat, she is ready for a night on the town. Pale blue eyes, smoky eyeshadow and rosy cheeks, she is a site [sic] for sore eyes. Marlena wears a blonde curled JAMIEshow rooted wig cap, comes with a stand and is a very limited edition for IFDC.

OONA  "Cool Breeze in Vegas" LE 100   Resin BJD  $425.

Mel Odom and JAMIEshow Introduce Oona, "Cool Breeze in Vegas". With sultry lavender eyes and blonde swirling rooted wig cap, Oona is dressed in a lovely blue dress with white accents, framed at the waist and bowed in the back. Panythose, purse, scarf, a diamond brooch and matching earrings adorn her body, as well as matching red patent leather pumps.

In addition to these two 16" dolls, Jamieshow revealed three new 12" resin bjd's. They are 'miniatures' of the existing 16" sculpts Grace, Eshe and Ginny. I have one demi body which I've used here to replace a Silkstone body. It's excellent. Separate bodies used to be available. I don't know if they will be offered again.

     http://www.jamieshow.us/DEMI-COUTURE_c_15.html

DEMI-COUTURE Collection dolls are 12" tall and made out of the same fine resin as JAMIEshow 16" BJD Fashion Dolls.  Each doll is cast, sanded, blushed, assembled and painted by hand.  So every doll is a one of kind doll.  They are the same body size as FR and Barbie, so they can share their clothes.  Each doll has 17 points of articulation including upper hip and double jointed elbows.  Dolls are sporting newly re-degined [sic] rooted wig caps and also come with solid cap for size 4 wigs.

Every summer, parents in America read the same warnings:  apply sunscreen, drink plenty of fluids- these are the familiar ones.  The newest warning is quite interesting.  You may have heard of it? "The Summer Slide"?  Researchers say that kids can regress as much as two months in math and other skills if they do not engage in educational opportunities over the summer. With warnings like this, I ...

TFCon has posted a photo and bio for Pestilence, their attendee-exclusive figure. It's a recolor of the Keith's Fantasy Club Ironpaw figure, AKA Not-Steeljaw, in a color scheme that will go equally well with a Toxitron (who is alluded to in the bio) -or a Transformers Mode "Eva" Convoy. Click through to see the image and read the bio!

Toy companies can do some odd things when it comes to movie spoilers. In the case of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, for instance, Kenner revealed the villain's secret identity when it left the figure unmasked in the packaging (you know that movie you were going to see in theaters later this week, kids? Wham, spoiled!). The film and toy industries have gotten a lot better in that regard, sometimes because the films will hold off providing character specs to these kinds avoid spoilers.

As such, the Collect-n-Connect for Mattel's Green Lantern line managed to stay reasonably under wraps. The first wave of three figures (GL Hal Jordan, Tomar-Re, and Rot Lop Fan) depicted a mostly darkened out version of Parallax and the three pieces, each an identical tendril, didn't really give much away. When two images finally showed up, I had naturally hoped for the second, cooler-looking version (not caring that he didn't really look like that). Of course, the one we actually got was a lot closer to the first one. I had already picked up a bunch of figures from the wave by this point. What was I to do?

Hit the jump to see how I made the best of a bad situation.

As you might have been informed, the IFDC doll show is up and running in Las Vegas this weekend (started Wednesday). JAMIEshow, having entered the rarefied world of retro Hollywood glamour with Gene Marshall, decided to offer as a limited edition (50 pieces) at IFDC this amazing Marlene Dietrich doll. They call her Marlena probably for copyright reasons.

The doll is a resin BJD, probably has the same body as Gene, and wears a 3-piece satin tuxedo suit complete with a top hat and black pumps. She has pale blue eyes, dark red lips and comes with a blonde curled JAMIEshow rooted wig cap. Stand included. Price: $475.

The only other Marlene Dietrich doll I know of  (and have) is the Madame Alexander one. This one is way better (and gives me an idea about what to do with my MA doll).

Recently, at the MTV Blog, they shared the EXCLUSIVE NEWS of the 2014 BATGIRL Character Redesign done by Cameron Stewart and Babs Tarr. They provided a nice Model Sheet explaining some of the changes.

Those images are shown up above and using the Model Sheet I made a New 1440 X 900 Desktop Wallpaper Background you can use down below.

Just a quick post to share this GOTHAM TV Series graphic shared by the FOX Network. It gives the release date for the premiere episode, Monday, September 22nd.

OK, so that means the show will be released in about 2 months. Hey, that's not too long away. We can't wait to see it!
