Hazardous Taste - Sket x Huck (24hr Sale starting June 13)
These are the weirdest cat gashapon yet
And now for something completely bizarre. Have you ever seen a cat walk on its two back feet? If you have absolutely no clue what I am talking about, give this youtube video a look. Freaky, right? They look like furry Hunchbacks of Notre Dame with tails! Someone at Bandai apparently loves these bipedal felines because they are the focus of a new series of gashapon figures in Japan. The set contains eight different cats plus an additional chaser figure (you can see its silhouette in the gallery). Some of the kitties are standing while others are sitting up. Either way, these are not typical cat positions.
The four centimeter-tall figures will be released in Japan on June 24. Each gashapon attempt will cost ¥200.

Kickstarter for Bigshot Toyworks' Maddie begins final fundraising push
Were you wondering how Bigshot Toywork's Kickstarter for Maddie was coming along? Well, with about 10 days to go, they're at US$20,638 of their US$37,000 goal, or about 56 percent of the way there. Obviously, 44 percent's a big hill to climb the last week and a half, so Tenacious Toys has decided to help sweeten the pot a bit.
You see, they've got some Jason Freeny Gummi Anatomy figures on the way, and they're going to be giving three away to folks who pledged US$60 or more on the Kickstarter. To enter, you have to not only make that pledge amount, but share this Facebook post and a link to the Kickstarter on Facebook.

‘GHOST IN THE SHELL' LOGICOMA SNEAKERS FROM REEBOK
It was two years ago that MadHouse first teamed up with Reebok for some Insta Pump Fury sneakers based on the Tachikomas from Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. Now the two powerhouses have joined forces once again, this time drawing inspiration from the Logicoma introduced in Ghost in the Shell: Arise. These highly limited kicks will be available at select Reebok retailers on June 21, including Styles in Tokyo, so keep a lookout.

New Look at TMNT 2014 Movie Action Figures Possibly Reveals Playmates Toys’ Entire Lineup
I have been a TMNT fan all my life, but with this new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 movie coming out in August, it almost makes me wish I wasn’t a fan at all. Why? After seeing all of the trailers, concept art, leaked photos, and now the toys, what is there to actually love […]

This Aniplex Plus Homura preview has us under a spell
SPOILERS ahead for the latest Madoka Magica movie!
While we saw her figma incarnation get revealed the other day, Aniplex have been working hard at a full scale version of Akuma Homura (from the new Puella Magi Madoka Magica movie) for quite some time now. Today Akiba Hobby got their hands on a prototype to see if that time was well spent.
I don't think I need to tell you how fantastic this figure looks. It's a worthy counterpart to Good Smile's Ultimate Madoka, being just as huge, elaborate, unwieldy and awesome. I'm loving details like the huge sweep of the skirt, the insouciant cross legged pose and the big wings. This preview also reveals that there'll be some replacement parts included - a choice between spread and folded wings, and between her soul gem and rather worse-for-the-wear Kyubey in the hand.
The only thing I'm a little uncertain about is the face. From some angles it definitely nails the gleefully sadistic look, but it can look a touch dopey from others. it's definitely no deal breaker though. There's still time to get Homura if you like what you see - she's an Aniplex Plus exclusive, but remember if you're in select countries, there's now an English language store you can buy from for the paltry price of US$199.
