First colored look at Optimus Prime pen shows he isn't coming alone
Here I was all excited about news of high quality prototype images for Sentinel's Optimus Prime pen hitting today and getting ready to show them off when I found something much, much better. Making my usual search for new Transformers listings on the big Japanese toy stores I found these guys on HobbyLink Japan today! We knew Optimus wouldn't be alone, early word was that Nemesis Prime (Optimus Prime Black as he's listed) would be made as a repaint, but HLJ is also giving us our first word of and look at Ultra Magnus. Of course they're all just repaints of Optimus, but I'll take what I can get.
As we've seen before the articulation in these guys is exceptional, as if they aimed to make a super articulated action figure and decided they may as well make it a pen while they were at it. I'll probably just transform them once and call it good. I was wondering just how they'd look painted and I'm not disappointed at all. They hit all of the right cues with the appropriate colors and Nemesis even has a Decepticon symbol. I do wish they had some extra hands, though.
Optimus Prime has a release date of September while Nemesis Prime and Ultra Magnus arrive in October. All of them are priced at ¥3,980 which is a lot for a pen that turns into a four inch robot, but not entirely outside the realm of affordability. Hopefully they'll move along and expand the line further with other characters.

Dr. Wu's DW-P17 Bitz Upgrade Kit - New Photos of TakaraTomy Version of Generations Blitzwing Head Replacement
The Facebook group Meteor Operation has posted a gallery of the upcoming Takara edition of Dr. Wu's Blitzwing upgrade kit, Bitz. The slightly recolored set still includes a new gun for Blitzwing, a pair of clips to better hold his robot mode together, and a slightly smaller head that should solve a lot of the rubber jet nose problems the mold has - and of course has a nice creepy robot skull beneath the removeable faceplate. Yes, we have been drooling over some brand-new FUNKO products lately and here's another fun example. It looks like Funko Toys is going to be releasing some UGLY DOLL Vinyl Figures soon that have a "Batman and Robin, the Boy Wonder" theme!
They released these awhile back, as plush dolls and they were pretty popular. These should be too. Personally, I really like the "Batman" one, but the "Robin" is ultra-weird (reminds me of a Ninja Turtle), ha ha!

New 2014 BATMAN and HARLEY QUINN Plush Doll Fabrikations by FUNKO!
Here's some more brand-new BATMAN and HARLEY QUINN Plush Dolls to keep an eye out for later this year. They're make by FUNKO and the name of the product is kinda cool, "Fabrikations".
They're also calling them "soft sculptures" but we all know they're just super-fancy "plushe dolls". But I gotta admit, they're pretty cool! We'll have to see how this new toy line performs. Also, stay tuned to the Bat-Blog for more photos of this series.

New 2014 BATMAN and The JOKER Wisecracks Statue Figures by FUNKO!
OK, Everybody loves Funko! Yes, you know, they're the toy company that makes those cool "Wacky Wobbler" Bobble-Head Nodder Figures. Well they have a new toy line called "Wisecracks" and they are sort of a parody of those "Award Statues" they used to make in the 1960's.
You know the ones I'm talking about. There was one of a guy with his arms outstretched super-wide and it had the phrase, "I Love You THIS Much!".
Anyways, here are some new ones with Batman and the Joker. I like these, they're both kinda retro and funny. Let's hope they make even more "Batman" characters.

Capcom's Morrigan gets some prototype shots
We were very excited when Capcom announced they'd be turning out a new figure of Darkstalkers icon Morrigan a few weeks back. At the time we only got a (rather lovely) piece of artwork to illustrate what she was going to look like, but now the company have updated with some unpainted protoype shots.
It's looking like a solid start, with the sculpt capturing the unique pose very well, while at the same time smoothing out the bits which need to be sorted in the 2D -> 3D transition. I'm a little worried about the face, which currently looks more anguished than alluring, but I suspect it's a case where paint will make the difference. What do you think readers, does this first look turn you off or are you more excited than ever?
