Evilos' The Rainy Day Antagonist hits Kickstarter
Evilos is a rather well-known customizer of designer toys, especially Vinylmations and Munnys, but he's hopping into the resin figure world with an original character, The Rainy Day Antagonist. Inspired by rain clouds that keep Evilos from painting outdoors sometimes, the 4-inch-tall resin figure features a disgruntled cloud flipping everyone the bird (as seen in the concept art by Qunicy Sutton in the header). Personally, I like the design, as it has a good urban-style look while also not being too complex.
It's able to be separated into five parts for painting/customizing purposes, and the Kickstarter has him available at the US$30 pledge tier. A painted version that will look like the concept art is at the US$150 tier, and Evilos has 16 E-Veloper Androids that he's handpainted available at the US$50 tier.
Evilos is looking for US$3,500 in total to produce and mold the first run of figures, with glow-in-the-dark and clear versions of The Rainy Day Antagonist as stretch goals, and just three days in, he's already at over US$2,800. If you're interested in helping him meet his goal (and beyond), check out the Kickstarter page for The Rainy Day Antagonist. You can also check out a promo video after the jump.

Introducing Black Vanessa
Her name is really "Second Skin" Vanessa. She's the first ITBE doll I've ever purchased. (Integrity Toys Basic Edition.) You may remember back a few short years ago when the first ITBE dolls came out, the dealers practically had to pay collectors to take them off their hands. You can easily see why.
IT has stepped up it's game. The general Fashion Royalty line, recently announced as discontinued, has been transformed into the new ITBE and it's been extremely successful. The dolls have been limited to 300 each and purchase is by lottery win only. Retail price is $75. plus postage which comes to a little over $81. for me. The sculpts have included such classics as Isha (as a ghost)
and now, the original Vanessa as a black woman.
None of the other sculpts, except Monogram, Lillith & Anja which were never changed, is the original sculpt. That's too bad because Adele's original and second sculpt were quite beautiful. Kyori's sculpt was perfect as it was and so was Natalia's.
Anyway, back to black. If I were going to change anything, I'd do her lips a different color. I think her hair is beautiful. The basic black dress with the red belt and red shoes are just fine.
For now she is going to stay in her box until I decide where she belongs.

Nendoroid Mako, figma Ryuko now available for pre-orders
Yesterday we had a double whammy of Kill la Kill previews, with both Nendoroid Mako and figma Ryuko going under the cameras. Now, as promised, they're both available for you to spend your hard-earned on.
For all the superfans out there, it's worth a reminder that both will come with amusingly quirky bonuses if you order them from the Good Smile Online Shop. Mako gets her freaky bruised up face, while Ryuko gets something even weirder - an acrylic cut-out of Mako. It's imaginative, I'll give them that.
They're both out this August, and you'll pay ¥4,200 for Mako or ¥4,800 for Ryuko. Get ordering fans! Anyone thinking of grabbing them both?
