Hot Toys has made a few different Wolverine 12 inch figures over the years, but for some reason they just aren’t that popular. It might not help that their last version of him was based on his Last Stand appearance. That movie just wasn’t a hit. Though, The Wolverine seemed to be a hit with […]

Hot Toys The Wolverine Sixth Scale Figure Review
It was way back in June 2013 when Big Bad Toy Store first dropped the bomb on us that Wheeljack and Bumblebee would be soon getting the Transformers Masterpiece treatment. It wasn't until the start of the new year that we got our first teaser of Masterpiece Wheeljack, but many of us were wondering how long we'd have to wait to get confirmation of MP BB. Well, it's been two months, but Takara Tomy is now finally ready to give us our first silhouetted teaser of Bee thanks once again to Shogo Hasui.
From what we can see in the silhouette (and in a little Photoshop work by Seibertron member superbat you can find the gallery) he appears to be using the much rumored Volkswagen Beetle as his car mode. VW has been notorious for not allowing their Bug to be used for 'war toys' and have prevented their use in the Alternators/Binaltech line and in the live action movies. It would seem they may have finally decided to let that slide and made way for its use here. That, or Takara Tomy is using a clever lookalike. If it is the real deal then this is the first time the Beetle has been usued officially in Transformers since the 80s (aside from reissues).
His outline appears to be pretty well proportioned. He does have big feet, but so did the original figure. I do like that they didn't put wheels on his arms. He does look to have a bit of a 'backpack', but he seems to be OK from the front. He appears to be holding a small gun. I'm holding out hope for a battle mask accessory, but it's too early to say.
Since they appear to be keeping him smaller than the other cars for accuracy I'm hoping they'll go with a lower price tag as well. Hopefully they'll remold him later on into Goldbug or even just give him a simple red repaint.
