Medicom starts Perfect Posing Products with Maka Albarn
Medicom Toy has ruled the roost in large scale poseable anime figures for quite some time now, thanks to their rather excellent Real Action Heroes range. Now though they're looking to turn their undoubted talents to something a bit smaller and more affordable, as the company announces the creation of a new range of static PVC figures dubbed Perfect Posing Products.
To open the range, they've decided to produce this very striking 1/8 figure of Soul Eater's heroine Maka Albarn, complete with cape and scythe. I've got to say, this is a fantastic looking way to kick off, with an underrepresented character, a dynamic pose and some great looking detail - check out the boots and the way that coat flutters in the wind. I've never been into Soul Eater but I really like the look of this figure and that's about the best start to a new range you can get.
Thee announcement was accompanied by the news that she'll cost an expensive-but-still-reasonable 9,000, with orders set to begin on December 24th and an eventual release date of July next year. Combined with the release of the new anime series Soul Eater Not!, I imagine today is a good day for fans out there. And while I may not be into the show, I'm into great looking figures, and this is definitely one of those.

Ume Toys is making Star Wars geekier with GeekWok
Ume Toys has released a preview of their new limited figure, GeekWok. They’ve taken a beloved creature from Endor and given it thick black glasses. It’s pretty darn adorable!
Actually, because of internet memes, when I see thick black glasses I think of it as being hipster now and not geeky. Still, geek or hipster, GeekWok is a cute little figure. Made of resin, this figure is three inches tall, hand painted, and will be signed and numbered at the base.
Coming in a custom header bag with a collectors card, the figure will be limited to 20 pieces. GeekWok will be released in Ume Toys’ online store on December 27 for £32.

Recruit your own Lynette Bishop with this pre-order
Alter's Strike Witches lineup has no end in sight, and with the semi-recent announcement of a new season that's probably going to be a fact for some time yet. The latest pantsless loli is Lynette Bishop, who has seemingly advanced quite a bit from the original Witches in the lineup.
I remember previous figures being simply static designs, but Lynette here has quite a bit more mobility. She comes with multiple expressions, and even her sizable firepower can be positioned in a more relaxed manner or prepped to take aim. It's enough to make the original members jealous! Poseability aside, you probably know what you're getting into with this series by now.
Alter's never had issues with the quality of the Strike Witches girls, and with only a bare minimum of variation below the waist along with in-flight posing, it really just boils down to whether or not you like each particular girl featured. Now, I'm not the biggest Lynette fan, but I can certainly imagine fans will be eager to add her soon. You'll be able to do just that in May for about ¥9,800.
