Gotta Love Little Red Wagons and Doll Chairs
I just love surprises - don't you?
For the "dollies" and me it's even more delightful when it's something they can use. They're so demanding and spoiled it's hard to keep them happy.
So, when my sister told me she had a friend who was moving and who had a gift shop full of inventory that she needed to sell that included doll chairs and wanted to know if I was interested I said, "absolutely!"
I was getting these sight unseen and had no idea how many chairs and what types they were. It would definitely be a surprise. And, surprised I was. Actually, "delighted" is a better word.
Tucked inside the box was the most adorable little red wagon. My sister thought I could use it for the "dollies" so she grabbed it for me. Of course, I loved it and immediately put it to good use in my Fall decorations seasonal scene. I thought it would look cute carrying a pumpkin.
Of course, when the boy "dollies" found out I was using it for one of my seasonal displays there was a lot of stomping, banging and clanging coming from "The Dollie Storage Room." I knew it was the boy "dollies" showing their displeasure with my using the little red wagon that way. So I just ignored them. I'm sure they weren't happy about that, but sometimes I just have to have the upper hand.
Hubby, of course, said , "The boys aren't going to let this go. They're very unhappy!"
To which I replied, "Well, they can't always have their way."
To which he replied, "You're gonna regret this."
I was determined not to let the boy "dollies" get their way but knew hubby was probably right. The "dollies" always got their way.

My Babies In The Pumpkin Patch Skinny Custom Fabric Quilted Runner and Placemats
In our kitchen and family room we have a large country kitchen table with 6 chairs that I LOVE decorating for the various seasons and holidays. The table is long but not especially wide so it can only fit place-mats with a skinny runner down the middle. I could never find a skinny runner anywhere so I ended up folding a fabric napkin in half and using that as a runner.
This year I decided to design my own place-mats and skinny runner and thought my Babies In The Pumpkin Patch custom fabric designs would be perfect for a skinny runner and place-mats.
LW523 Babies In The Pumpkin Patch Handmade Skinny - 30 1/2" by 7 1/4" Custom Fabric Handmade Runner
For the skinny runner I thought my Babies In The Pumpkin Patch - Smaller custom fabric design might make a cute runner surrounded by some bright Fall colors.
So I designed a skinny runner with two rectangles of twelve of my Babies In The Pumpkin Patch - Smaller custom fabric design images surrounded by solid green rectangles on the left and right sides and a solid yellow center rectangle. I lined the back with brown quilted fabric and machine top stitched along the edges and rectangles for support.
I was pleased with the way my skinny runner turned out. It was bright and cheery and a perfect size for our table.
Hopefully, the e-pattern will available next year so stay tuned.

For the place-mats I thought a combination of my Babies In The Pumpkin Patch - Smaller custom fabric design (shown above) and my Babies In The Pumpkin Patch - Dark custom fabric design might make some adorable place-mats.
I thought a center rectangle of my Babies In The Pumpkin Patch - Dark custom fabric design bordered on the left and right hand sides with my Babies In The Pumpkin Patch - Smaller custom fabric design and surrounded by Fall themed fabric rectangles would look good. I lined the back with creme quilted fabric and machine top stitched along the edges for support.
I was also pleased with the way my place-mats turned out. They, too were bright and cheery and a perfect size for our table.
Hopefully, the e-pattern will available next year so stay tuned.
Both my skinny runner and place-mats would look great in any home and would also be very decorative for a table runner and place-mats for a colorful "Babies In The Pumpkin Patch" Fall baby shower. I know they're going to look great in my home for many Fall seasons to come.

My Babies In The Pumpkin Patch Custom Fabric Quilted Runner with Hand Embroidered Leaves and Pumpkins

Along with designing my Fall themed Punky place-mat that I posted about HERE I designed a Fall runner that I could use for the small coffee table I have in my sunroom. I wanted bright, bold, inviting Fall colors and thought my Babies In The Pumpkin Patch Large2 custom fabric design would be perfect.
I thought a runner with two rectangles of four of my Babies In The Pumpkin Patch Large2 custom fabric design surrounded by Fall themed rectangles and outlined with decorative ribbon would look good. To this I decided to add 8 hand embroidered and blanket stitched appliqued pumpkins and 8 hand embroidered and blanket stitched appliqued leaves. Then I added a large green ruffle and backed it with a burgundy print Fall themed quilted fabric.
I was pleased with the way my runner turned out. It was definitely bright, bold, and inviting. It looks great in my home and would also be very colorful and festive for a table runner for a cheery "Babies In The Pumpkin Patch" Fall baby shower.
Hopefully, the e-pattern will available next year so stay tuned.

Vinylmation Cutesters Series 6 signing on January 17
The latest Vinylmation release takes a cue from the season and adds a dollop of sugary cuteness to the mix in Cutesters Series 6: Snow Day. The new set, designed by Maria Clapsis and Caley Hicks, features fuzzy animals like a polar bear and seal dressed in winter finery. I love how this series makes use of the Vinylmation medium, utilizing transparent figure material to make chilly oceans and and snow flurries with the designs fitting perfectly within the room it is given. Plus, the designs themselves really put the "cute" in Cutesters. This wave is by far my favorite for this series. The artists have truly outdone themselves.
And speaking of the artists, Maria and Caley will be at D-Street at Walt Disney World's Downtown Disney - Westside on January 17 to celebrate the release of Series 6. The pair will be available for signings from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern. Fans on the property on this date should check it out!

Introducing Toy Turds & Toy Trauma
I've always enjoyed listening to folks talking about toys. Beyond politics and social issues, I've always been more interested in hearing folks' opinions about toys they enjoy, and/or not like. Call me "biased", but that's just my personal tastes.
"Sometimes" I like to join in the discussions … but most times folks might get tired, or even exhausted from listening to me! But i digress …
Programming is far and few in-between especially for "art toys", besides the by-now established Toy Break from Ayleen and George Gaspar (and friends) of October Toys, so really, folks are not exactly "spoilt for choice" … but seems the landscape is ever changing and evolving … here are two examples of programming to have recently started in the www:
From KFHC comes "Toy Turds" - a "group-of-guys-on-a-couch" concept with the additional mixed input of verbal vulgarities, heavy metal music, bolstered by the effects of alcohol consumption ("sponsorship" opportunities here, folks!), with two episodes uploaded thus far.
And from new youtube channel Toy Trauma sees numerous genres and brands of toys crossing over and talking smack about each other, in various degrees of vulgarity (notice the emerging pattern?) via stop-motion photography, punctuated in your face with faux dialect voice-overs and script (remembering the good old days of Sucklord's "Microsexuals").
