Cu-Poche Mikoto is a level 5 (in cuteness)

A Certain Scientific Railgun S is a heck of a show, and it's about time we saw more Mikoto figures. This month's magazine scans have a Cu-Poche version on display, set for 2014. You can see a pretty good range of accessories: effects pieces showing off her powers, extra expressions, and her teddy bear.

This will inevitably get compared to the Nendoroid, but I'll leave that particular argument to you guys. Do you like the aesthetics? Do the joints bother you? Or is the additional articulation more important?

A splendid surprise gift package from Leecifer graced the TOYSREVIL-HQ today, featuring an Artist Proof PICKLEBABY (and boy is he a huge beast!), signed by Lee on the header-card, a Honoo magnet charm (which looks pretty cool on the household fridge - no it's not going to stay there, do you think me insane???), postcards and pins!

And while mine is a A/P, 20 pieces of the first run was unleashed circa SDCC priced at US$60 each - with the BLUE Edition currently available via Dragatomi. Will get back to you folk on where else to score these lovelies, once Lee settles down from moving house!

Alphamax's Velvet is a treasure indeed

The Shining series has its share of lovely Tony Taka designs, but I can't recall one quite so lovely as Shining Ark's Velvet. This is not the forest-dwelling bastard princess of Odin Sphere, but they certainly have a similar sense of modesty. What really makes this figure for me is her gentle expression. Usually I find this boring, but for Velvet it just works. Of course the premium-grade zettai ryouiki and pirate theme don't hurt.

Velvet is going for a hefty ¥9,800 (at 1/8-scale), you'd better do some saving or have deep pockets. She'll be out in January, which looks like it'll be the new month-where-all-the-cool-stuff-drops.

Somehow it appears summer no longer ends in September, but in August. Everywhere I turn there are not only future plans for fall, but schools starting right this very second. In the midwest I swear we used to wait until after Labor Day. I feel like I’ve missed some important piece of legislature. Maybe I’m [...]

Mrs. Nerd and I are reality TV junkies. However, we don’t watch every thing out there. I was really surprised when she said she wanted to watch an episode of Duck Dynasty. Normally, her tastes don’t run to anything close to outdoors. So we watched and episode, and another episode, and another….You get the idea. [...]

TOYSREVIL Counts Down To #STGCC: 7 Days

$

Today Saturday August 24th is exactly one week to the first day of Singapore Toy, Games and Comic Convention 2013 #STGCC (*PANIC-MODE*), and the doors of Sands Expo Convention Center will open in ten hours' time (estimated by time pf tis post, give or take a couple of minutes ;p) - but yes, you still have a week, so chill … NOT!

DAILY REMINDER FOR VENDORS:
Do you have your plastic bags / tote bags / sellable ready?
Do you have money/change ready?

Weekend is the best time to do these seemingly "mundane" stuff, as you want to leave the weekdays for when you need shops to be open, vendors to be printing etc - Don't you? Especially for folks who work day jobs, THIS weekend is THE weekend to get these sundries done, IMHO.

WHAT THIS IS:
Adding to the frenzy and panic of preparing for STGCC, TOYSREVIL will "present" a simple daily countdown to Con-Day … peppered with little "reminders" here and there :) … TOYSREVIL may not be setting up booth at this year's STGCC, but I am with you in spirit, people!
