NECA has announced, at Licensing Expo 2013, a limited edition series of merchandise that will feature the animated versions of many stars who have made guest appearances on the show over its 25 year run as a way of commemorating the series' 25th anniversary. The line will feature 25 of the greatest guest stars, starting with  James Brown, Tom Hanks, Kid Rock, Yao Ming and Hugh Hefner.

The unspecified product offerings will reportedly be in a wide variety of formats and will first become available early next year. New products will be introduced every two to three months, containing different groupings of guest stars, with limited quantities available at select pop-up shops and retailers worldwide. The stars themselves will include famous actors, musical stars, sports figures, and other notable persons.

Given the wide variety of guest stars over the years, I can't even begin to guess who might be featured in this line especially considering that it's based on their animated counterparts. The show has included such notables as Michael Jackson (humorously portrayed as an oversized mental patient who claimed to be Michael Jackson), Mark Hamill, Mel Gibson, Leonard Nimoy, and the entire cast of Cheers. Some (such as Ron Howard) even made multiple appearances with others, such as Glenn Close (who played Homer's mother) and Johnny Cash (who played a coyote chili-inspired hallucination), portraying actual show characters.

So, does anybody feel like playing the guessing game? Who is most likely to show up in the line? Who would you like to see?

Get out your cameras, your props and locations set as Good Smile has opened for entries in their summer Scale Figure Photo Contest. The rules are now available in English and there's only a couple of things to keep in mind. One, the obvious, being that the subject of the photo be a GSC-related scale figure. You can throw your Nendos and figma in there as well, but the focus will be your scale figure. Once you've taken your shot, take another with your name and the figure's name on a piece of paper. You've gotta prove that it's actually yours after all.

What do you win for your efforts? If you're good and lucky, quite a bit. The grand prize winner will take home 10 GSC scale figures and your photo featured on the GSC page for 24 hours. The jury prize will also hand out 2 scale figures to a few entries of their choosing. For those wanting a democratic winner, 2 winners will be selected by the people, with those also getting 2 scale figures of their own. Even if you don't feel that your entry may be up to par, 5 entries will be chose at random to receive a scale figure.

You don't have too long to act, as entries will close on July 7th. Votes will continue to collect through July 17th with the winners being announced on July 28th during WonderFes. I'm sure some of you have ideas already of what to do, so get to it!

It's been a few months since we announced that pre-orders were available for Wave's 1/12th scale Nadia. Since then she has been released and Moeyo managed to get their hands on a released figure for review. They uploaded many photos, most of which can be found in our gallery here, however if you want to see their full gallery, including all of their cast off photos you should head over to Moeyo's blog.

Nadia is looking very good despite her 20 year old design. I guess what people say about what’s old is new may be right after all. She is very pretty in overall sculpt and her eyes have such a classic look to them. It's also nice to see a darker skinned character getting a figurine sculpt. I remember reading a few articles in the past about this particular figurine and they mentioned that Wave had a very trial and error process getting her skin tone just right, but after many tries they seem to have gotten it down.

Wave's Nadia comes at a suggested price of ¥4400 yen. She is selling out very fast, but at the time of this writing you can still find her at Hobbylink Japan, Toys Logic, Plamoya and Big Bad Toy Store, however she may come back into stock elsewhere.
