Well, here's certainly a bit of a shocker. Despite not having any kind of revival as far as I'm aware, Griffon has seen fit to release this figure of 1985's Yoko Asagiri from Leda: The Fantastic Adventure of Yohko. Like a lot of series from the 80s and 90s, it follows the trope of a modern day girl being shunted into some medieval or fantasy past. Basically if you've seen Inuyasha, Twelve Kingdoms, Fushigi Yugi, Rayearth, or countless others, well--this looks to have done it first.
While the figure itself is certainly simple by today's standards, there's no denying that it certainly captures the style of classic 80s anime. For what she is, Yohko makes for a pretty attractive character, and there's definitely no small amount of appeal if you grew up watching anime when it was traded on VHS tapes in shady back alleys.
If you're feeling a bit nostalgic yourself, Yohko will be available in June, and will run you around ¥7,600.
