Stranger Factory's next show will be in April, and it'll feature two very familiar names to those of you who are vinyl fans. Kelly Denato and Andrew Bell are plotting The Great Escape, a collection of new paintings, drawings and sculptures from the two Brooklyn-based artists. Kelly's done work in both the plush and vinyl realms, while Andrew really needs no introduction for vinyl toy fans, as several of his popular illustrations and creatures have been turned into equally popular vinyl figures.
I'm a fan of Andrew's work, so I wish I could check it out. Sadly, I don't live close enough to Stranger Factory (109 Carlisle Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, N.M.) to make the opening on Friday, April 6 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. However, if you find yourself around the area on that date (or if you just happen to live there), be sure to stop by, say hi to Andrew and Kelly (who will be in attendance) and check the show out! And if you can't make it that night, you have time: the show runs through April 30.
