Whoever said video games aren't art hasn't heard about OhNo!Doom's next event. It's called Super Button Mashers: A Gamer Tribute, so not surprisingly, the show's pieces center around video games. Running from Feb. 11 to the 25, OhNo!Doom's Chicago gallery will become an arcade to exhibit figures, plushes, and more "traditional" art themed to gaming. They are going to have some pretty big names on board with the likes of Shawn Smith, Ben Spencer (check out his Mega Man-inspired figure in the gallery), Martin Hsu, Steff Bomb, Lana Crooks, and others. There are going to be more talented gaming artists than you can swing a controller (or a Wii remote, if you prefer) at! You can see more of the artists that will displaying their work at the show on the OhNo!Doom tumblr.
The opening for the event will be held on Saturday, Feb. 11, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 1800 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago, Ill. 60647. Any Tomopeople planning on taking in these fine specimens of gaming artistry?
