As the clock strikes a minute past twelve midnight on January 23rd (Singapore-time), I no doubt am still "awake", with the annual "ritual" of keeping awake past the Eve (the day of the "Reunion Dinner" - whereby everyone in the family comes back to share a meal together - very much like Thanksgiving, I reckon) into the Chinese Lunar New Year, in an act of "keeping vigil" to have your elders live
