My daughters and I hope that you get a load of red packets to buy a load of goodies!
When I was younger, my parents didn't have time to look after me so I was brought up in various homes - a white, black and indian family raised me for most of my childhood (which you may have read about).
Because of this, I never really celebrated Chinese New Year - but my wife's family does and we do a load of chatting over skype with them- most of it is watching them on the other side get together eating ^^;

So what is Chinese New Year like in Japan? Folks go down to China Town in Yokohama to watch the festivities - if you want to see some of it then you can catch it for a week from tomorrow.
