Holy Halibut! DST has jumped on the Adam West bandwagon
Just when you thought everybody had jumped on the Adam West bandwagon, another company makes the leap: Diamond Select Toys has announced that it also be making merchandise based on the hit 1960s Batman tv show starring Adam West.
Diamond Select Toys intends to release merchandise across multiple formats including (but not limited to) busts, statues, vinyl bank busts, bottle openers, and slate artwork. Both characters and props will receive merchandise. So far DST has confirmed that Adam West as Batman, Burt Ward as Robin, Julie Newmar as Catwoman, Frank Gorshin as The Riddler, Burgess Meredith as The Penguin, and Cesar Romero as The Joker will appear in their offerings. While the company acknowledges that several other famous villains will receive merchandise as well, the possibility of anything involving Vincent Price as The Eggman seems slim.
Diamond Select Toys joins the likes of Mattel, Hot Toys, Sideshow Collectibles, NECA, Funko, Mezco, Kotobukiya, and others in producing merchandise for the classic series.

C2E2 2013: Woolbuddy
From tiny pandas to a not-so tiny R2D2, Woolbuddy brought pieces of needle felted magic to last weekend's C2E2. These handmade toys were brought to plush life by artist Jackie Huang, who was also in attendance at the convention. The fiber menagerie is just bursting with personality! I particularly like their eyes. They pop out from the body slightly, giving me the impression that they are, for some unknown reason, shocked and I find it hilarious. The booth had needle felting kits available for purchase, so attendees could learn the craft and make one of Jackie's really cool toys.
You can see more of the felted critters from Woolbuddy's booth in the gallery. I dare you not to smile.

Preview Kotobukiya's Panis Angelicus
Remember last March when we announced that pre-orders were available for Kotobukiya’s Panis Angelus from the Shining Series? Well if you thought she looked cool in the preview then you should check out this gallery chock full of images.
Panis Angelus has a very nice look to her. Her face looks to be calm with a kind smile and has a look that is reminiscent of some of my favorite characters of all time. Her outfit is cute, showing just a little bit of skin here and there but keeps most of it hidden under her thin dress.
As previously reported one of her neater features is that her wings are attached to her back magnetically. Hopefully they do not fall off too easily, but this allows for her to be given a one winged look or a two winged look. She also comes with a black wing to mix it up with her two white wings.
Just as a reminder she comes at a low suggested price of ¥7,800 and should be shipping out in late August of this year.
