I think the term "adorable" cannot even begin to describe TADO's interpretation of EWOKS for their participation for the May 4th Star Wars-themed show "A Saga In The Stars: A Tribute To A Galaxy Far, Far Away" @ Gallery Nucleus! Even as WIPs, they already look awesome, IMHO ... Meanwhile, here is a judicious selection of previews for artwork for the May 4th show (via Gallery Nucleus):

Wilde Imagination Candlelight Rufus Basic

I did a double-take while browsing the Ellowyne Wilde catalog earlier. Listed in among the Basic Dolls was a doll called Candlelight Rufus Basic. He looked so much like another Tonner doll - at first.
Candlelight Rufus Basic $119.00
Put your finger over the face and who do you see? I saw Jeremy Voss for an instant. Too bad Rufus is so weird-looking. I wish Jeremy would make a comeback. I need one with black hair.

It looks like the same body except for the neck. What do you think?

I wonder if this Rufus outfit would fit the Matt/Jeremy body? I like this outfit called "Totally Natural."
Rufus - Totally Natural (Outfit Only) $89.00
It  vaguely reminds me of something Rex Harrison wore in My Fair Lady.

The Mattel version is kind of cute, too.

A Style Mantra Eden just sold on eBay for $1,026. The winner has a feedback score of 15. There were 35 bids from 19 people. Seriously? Why would someone pay so much for this doll? I know she's popular but come on.

Do you think they will debox her?

So. Yesterday was interesting. First off, Global Toy News posted an article I wrote for them, Toys R Us and the Adult Toy Collector. It’s about how TRU doesn’t seem to be serious about appealing to the collector market, and why that may be a mistake. An excerpt: There’s a universe of collectibles out there that [...]

Bryan Singer Reveals New X-Men Characters

Did you know that, when making the first X-Men movie, director Bryan Singer embraced the internet in a way that no other filmmaker before him had? While it is commonplace these days, in 1999 it was unheard of for anyone in a film production to blog about the film they were working on, but Bryan saw the power of social media before there was social media. Moving into X-Men: Days Of Future Past, Singer continues to provide anyone interested with great looks of life on the set of a feature film by posting images on his Twitter page. The latest being a short video showing the cast chairs on set earlier this week. As a props guy myself, the thought of eleven cast chairs has me calling the hall for a day call, but if you don't have to keep track of them while trying to gear up the actors with guns, swords, and very expensive hand made props, but I digress ... The reason to click through is to see the names on the chair backs. Some you would expect to see and some are surprises you'd never have thought of. Click the thumbnail above to view the video.
